carmelo- revisited
ok- rumors of a nets/nuggets deal
carmelo/camby
for
rjeff/m. williams/van horns' contract/+pick
could we match this? do we have the contracts?
wallace/nazr/may/morrison and our pick?
don't know if this matches up- but a lineup of felton/j-rich/anthony/okafor/camby is strong.
probably just wishful thinking- but man that would be a lineup.

I think the question is CHRBAL is would you want too....this is the only subject I post about on this board right now cuz it's the only one w/ any interest to myself....I've stated on this board, the main forum and the Nuggz board that I am all in when it comes to this trade.....But more importantly I think if the Nuggz are interested in trading 'Melo, MJ will be all in too, atleast in seeing what it would take.
Look I love my bobcats...i consider myself a true fan since it was announced that we were getting the team...I'm one of the few that has had season tickets every year including at the Coliseum but the team we have now just isnt good enough....with the core we have now we arent good enough to be a serious contender and teams around us are getting better(honestly if Miami gets a top 2 pick where are we in our own division?!) but we arent bad enough to get a top pick w/o a little luck.....
Do I think 'Melo is a top notch player right now....hell no....but he is only 22-23 yrs old and he does several things this franchise needs...he gives us our first true "superstar"-type player, he puts more asses in the TWC Arena....he brings us more national attention(w/ both Melo & Larry Brown on baord we would definetly get some national TV games & his jerseys would be all over) and he has had the Nuggets in the playoffs in a much tougher western conf.....who currently on our roster even comes close to any of that?!
We all will continue to debate this issue until he is traded or Denver says they're not trading him but Im sure MJ has some interest....say what you like Gerald Wallace is a decent player who gives his all but he aint putting no asses in seats and he aint bringing national attention(the biggest "national draw" we have right now is Larry Brown) and he aint the player that's gonna lead a team to contention, he is a real good role player but we treat him like he's untouchable, plus we dont really need anymore youth on this team because we still dont really know what we have in Felton, Morrison, May, Hollins or Davidson....in fact the only draft pick we've made thats done what we wanted or expected him to do is Dudley which is bad cuz he wasnt a lottery pick so expectations weren't real high.
If a trade of GWallace, 1st pick and whatever else to match salaries for 'Melo isnt a good trade then maybe im just the dumbest Bobcats fan in history

agree completly- he is a superstar caliber player and we don't have one, and I don't see anyone coming on the horizon.

I mean, the Nuggets never make that trade with NJN.
They'll shake things up this offseason, but I don't think Melo and AI are going anywhere. The reason they didn't do anything last year was to see how it would go with a full year of that duo together...
that said, If they're stupid enough to defy my logic and trade Melo, we ought to be conversing with them foolz

Carmelo Anthony is a player I think would thrive in Charlotte. He is from the B-more area if I am not mistaken. Build a team with REAL potential and the fans will come. Remember when LJ and ZO played in Charlotte the fans where crazy. Check the stats during that time Charlotte Arena was one of the best and loudest arenas around. If the Bobcats do not think Okafor is a MAX player then include him in the deal via sign and trade. My option would be to trade the #9 pick, GWallace, Morrison, and what ever to make the salaries work. MJ has to be thinking about this! Anthony is a Jordan Brand guy! If MJ can get him to settle down and listen to Larry things will be great. Maybe AI can let him know what type of coach Brown is and that if he had things to do over he would have listened to him more.

Aniloman....I feel exactly the same way
I would do a Melo + Kmart or Camby for GWallace + Okafor(if he asks for too much $$) + salary filler.... I wouldnt trade the draft pick in that scenario unless it was a swap of picks......
Sorry for ramblin but I think MJ is definetly thinking along the same lines as us.....

Melo knows exactly what type of coach Brown is. And I don't think Melo has any desire to play for a coach who blamed him for the USA losing in the 2004 Olympics(even though he barely played in the games he was made the scapegoat by Brown).
Hey how do people know MJ is thinking like this?

See Post...
However I would honestly trade both of our draft picks this year for Carmello, or our first, and 2nd next year, etc. This dude would be our starting 4 for YEARS to come! We could then pick up a vet for the backup PG position.
