Bobcats War Room - 2008 Draft - Round 2 - Pick # 36

Pick # 36- We must need a trade with Portland to draft here. Now there is a team that has manufactured some depth. We ought to be able to find something to talk to Portland about. If we can move up, great. If not, maybe we hit on the player we might actually end up with at 38. There's always that chance.

Our latest addition to the draft board spent exactly one night in vote mode. Serge Ibaka, at the tender age of 19, had enough game to blow onto and off of our nine in exactly one day. It's almost like you were waiting for him to hit the list. But if you felt that way, why didn't you go "None of the Above" earlier and pull the votes in through write-in?

You caught me off guard. But I like it! That's what makes this fun.

Tonight, we add another new name to the eight who have spent some time before you. So in the next 24 hours, you will either surprise me greatly again, or we get a "best value available" winner. Time to vote! We close it down at 10PM Monday.

Claw. ON. Bobcats. Fans!

I'm torn b/w Pekovic and Thompson. The one year age difference has me voting for Thompson first.

And now, after a pseudo-thunderstorm (Lightning and thunder, but alas, no rain) I get up the next morning to a light vote AND A TIE! Guys, Father's Day isn't until Sunday. :o

So the next order of business is to chunk the tie. Reverse raffle has been conducted and the results appear below. The tying combatants are Jason Thompson of Rider College (a big) and Kyle Weaver of Washington State(a SG/SF).

The voting draw:
Thompson

Weaver

Thompson.......the last slip in the hat is Kyle Weaver of Washington State.

And now, we close down # 36 and move on to our next pick! See ya shortly!
