Orien Greene

Post#1 » by misterglover » Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:16 pm

Just read on Hoopsworld(http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=9018) that Larry Brown in adding Orien Greene to our summer league team. I know he's not going make a big impact on our team but he is a big PG(6'4 solid build) thats been in & around the league and just a few years ago guys like Larry Bird really saw something in him.....You guys think he has any chance to maybe make the squad as the backup PG or make the team period??

Another story from this site is about Shaun Livingston is gonna be an UFA. Would we be willing to gamble? What is the minmum we are allowed to offer him?

(he would fit perfectly with his bad knee)

Greene came and played here in the Australian League with the New Zealand Breakers last season. He had some trouble getting use to our style down here and fouled out of quite a few games. He didn't really dominate the league like Julius Hodge did when he arrived and played with Adelaide.

At 6'4 PG should of dominated down here. He did lead the league in steals averaged during his three month stay.

If it came down to Livingston or Greene, I roll the dice with Livingston.

Greene would be a great addition for the Bobcats. He is a lock down defender that can score if he wants to. He played for my Pacers two years ago and he became a fan favorite because of his defense and work ethic. You guys should want him.

I think I'd prefer Greene at this point, we need a healthy backup pg. Livingston had one of the worst injuries I've seen... scary.

This is a decent enough move. If nothing else, at least hes taller then kevin burelson.

I'll just be happy when no one is given a spot (jeff mcinnis seemed like a settle last year).

I think i can share thoughts on Greene since he played a short stint for the kings. The positives that he has is he is a big guard who is good devensively but the negatives on this guy is that he is not a good point guard nor can he shoot.

He was actually the starting guard for the kings last season for like two games and was cut after. But if your going to play him in limited minutes i think in that way he can be effective.

What are the GSW's doing with Watson? What is his contract status?

I wouldn't mind him giving him a 2nd look and fighting Greene for the SL point duties.
