Congratulations, gentlemen, we have our selection at # 38- Nikola Pekovic of KK Partizan Belgrade, a Center by position. Clean and clear, with no stench of tie. That was a good one to have a clear-cut decision on.

Onward we go until we get enough players on our list to withstand some withdrawals to retain college eligibility. If it happens that none of our current 38 withdraw, we have a pretty good group that I feel comfortable with. I hope that you feel that way as well! Guys, I hate to tell you, but we haven't selected anybody capable of playing point guard in the second round yet, so I'm going to break with my obsession with bigs to vote for a guy more my height.

This kid Hudson, he's kind of a combo guard, but point guard is listed first by DX. He's 23, so he has seen a few college basketball games as a participant. The level of his team play is probably a little suspect, but dang, if we need help at the point, we had better have some in line! Especially if we go big in the first round.

I think I've made this point already, but if not, here it is...

I think drafting a guard in the 2nd round is a wasted pick unless it's an international player.

You're just as likely to find a player capable of being replacement level that goes undrafted as you are taking one in rd 2. The reason int'l players are the exception I know I mentioned in the last thread, but it's worth repeating. 1st round selected Int'l players have a high likelyhood of never coming over to the league because of the rookie pay scale, which isn't relevant for 2nd rounders.

edit:Hudson is at least super interesting though, what with the quadruple double and all
