Bobcats War Room - 2008 Draft - Round 2 - Pick #40

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Sun Jun 15, 2008 7:55 pm

Well, for certain, when I logged on a little bit ago, I wondered if I was in the right place! New look, new smilies, wow! But that's a little :offtopic: , so we continue with the business at hand.

Our board has collectively by a vote of 2-1-1-1, selected D. J. White of Indiana University as our 39th pick. I hope we can muster a few more votes this time around. We have to have more concensus than two votes. Let this be a lesson to us.

Our attention now turns to the players still "in play". We have our needs and hope to fill them with whatever happens on draft night and immediately following opening up player deals in July. The question that I pose to you today is: Assuming we do NOT trade our picks, do we select point guard first round and go big in the second, or do we go big first, and either go big again in the second round and rely on getting a point guard through trade or free agency? This is a philosophical question that was brought up by Paydro 70 in the last voting, that to me is a vital thing for us all to consider. To recap, he feels that drafting a point guard in the second round is a waste of a pick. I see where he is coming from. I would not consider it off topic for others to express their feelings on this subject during the vote, as it bears heavily on the actual individual's voting preference.

Ready to vote? We now have the ability to go back and change our vote, so this could get interesting! We will cut off at 6:00 PM on Monday night, so good luck and bring us the man for our team!

My vote went to Ryan Anderson. I'm back on my "bigs" kick. The mocks at this point have us overwhelmed with guards, point or shooting. Bah! He may or may not be what we need offensively, but just look at his size. Of what is there right now, he's the only player that could lay claim to our power forward position. I could have gone with one of the foreign centers, but do we really know that either one would be here with us next season? At this pick, I'll take the PF.

Ryan Anderson

Tomic is going to be awesome if he ever gains weight. Very talented player.

Tomic. Agree with Walt, plus he can stay in Europe for a while and further develop.

Don't know much about the Euros but I'd take a shot at Giddens. If LB can coach him up he can be quite the player on the next level.

Ryan Anderson takes the voting at # 40 (since the withdrawal deadline has come and gone, I have edited the list and we are down to pick # 38). See ya at the next thread!
