For the Firefox users out there...

Post#1 » by fluffernutter » Wed Jun 18, 2008 3:43 pm

The Chicago board has a Firefox Extension which auto-scrolls past the annoying crap at the top of the new boards.

I've installed it and it works fine.

Just a heads up.

I have version 2.

I don't think the version of Firefox matters; it's a very simple extension which just auto-scrolls down a bit when the page loads.

I updated to firefox 3 from ver 2 the other day. I'll give that extension a try because it's the only ad/image I see on the site and scrolling down every time is annoying.

Also am I the only one who has to keep logging in whenever I pull up the site since the forum update?

EDIT: Thanks for the heads up fluffer. That is much better. :D

i've read something about the log in problems might have to do with the url used to access the site. if you access from realgm.com and then again from www.realgm.com you will have re re-log ing.

not sure if that is your problem though.

Yeah, I fixed it about 5 minutes after I posted about it. I just accessed realgm without going through my bookmark, signed in and then pasted the new url into my bookmark and it solved the problem.

Thanks though. :D

Yeah Firefox + AdBlocker + PopupBlocker + script control + other nerdy stuff = never see another ad in your life. It's kinda shocking, actually, when I use a public browser. Most of the sites I see are chock full of ads and graphics that I just never see normally.

I use Safari primarily and haven't seen an ad since the board upgrade. I remember seeing ads in the past on realgm, but didn't notice them one way or the other lately. Anyway, I imagine it's something Safari added in a recent update b/c I didn't install an adblocking plugin. Glad to read that realgm is working for firefoxers, that's my fallback.
