Bobcats War Room - 2008 Draft, Round 2, Pick 46, Slot 44

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Tue Jun 24, 2008 3:21 am

Gentlemen, I think I smell moth balls. Faintly, ever so faintly, but I smell moth balls. Definitely. Tomorrow night, we hit Pick # 45, enough I think to last us through the draft on Thursday night. At least I hope so. And with the conclusion of # 45, we put the ol' War Room into moth balls until the end of next year's NCAA tournament. We will need to start early, because these two draft picks should (notice I didn't say will?) get us to the NBA promised land of playing past mid-April next year. We will be competing with the boys while they are doing their playoff thing, because our picks should be deeper into the draft next year. So, for old times sake, let's enjoy the next two picks, and then the draft!

Last night, we embarked on Pick # 43. And had another tie. (Note to self- burn every single tie you can find!) The reverse raffle was used to sort it all out, but Anton Ponkrashov stayed in the hat one slip longer than Jamont Gordon did. I think that Mr. Gordon might be due to win this time out, as most tiebreak losers have done pretty well the next vote. I hope that continues. Anyway, it is good that a couple of tall point guards made it a contest.

So, are we ready to vote? First, here are the options..........

We have power forwards and centers coming out of our ears. Still want a 6th point guard on the list.

So,

Jamont Gordon

finally gets my vote. (Hope he wins!)

Anyone up for a TIE? Ty, Thai, Everywhere a Tie! Blocking out the scenery, blowin' my mind..... Do this don't do that, can't you see the tie?

This time it is Darnell Jackson and Jamont Gordon. The two guys that Walt has been championing for the last week. He must be proud that they have tied. Or do I just forego # 45 and declare them both the winner? That would take some stress off this old geezer heart! But no, I'm going to soldier on and let my cardiologist earn his keep. Oh yeah, we have a reverse raffle to conduct. Again four slips.....Two marked for Darnell Jackson.. and two for Jamont Gordon. Carefully folded and into our famous baseball cap. And now for our draw........(I should offer my services to Price Waterhouse guys!) and our first slip reads...

Jamont Gordon.

Second slip......

Darnell Jackson. Walt gulps at this point. Moment of truth!!!!!!!!!!

Third slip........

Darnell Jackson. Man. It's a shame that one of his two guys had to lose. But his point guard made it in.

Winner- Jamont Gordon, Point Guard, Mississippi State.

Now, lets get over to the # 45 thread, where we finish our draft board.
