Bobcats turned down Sonics

Post#1 » by CarolinaCash » Thu Jun 26, 2008 10:10 pm

According to ESPN (Katz or Buecher) the Sonics and Clippers trade is off and the other team the Sonics were talking to were the Bobcats. He said that the Bobcats turned them down to move up to 4 bc they were asking too much.

Fat.....I should probably put these trade rumors in existing threads.....which one?

I'm hoping that's a good thing.

Maybe that's a sign that we aren't being completely stupid and giving up someone like Wallace and one of our first round picks just to move up a few spots, and end up drafting someone that we probably could have drafted at #9 anyway.

Yeah WHam......Hopefully that means we won't give away the farm for someone that may fall anyways.

I wonder what made the Sonics/Clipps deal fall through.

Protection of the future 1st?

^ It was the fact that the Sonics would not do the trade if Mayo fell down to #4, who the Clipps were targeting as well. The Clipps were also targeting EG with the #4, but I have a hard time believing that because he was going to be there at #7 nonetheless.

I'm still confused.

Sonics exchange 4 for 7 and a future 1st if OJ Mayo is going 3rd to Minnesota. Despite eventually being traded to Memphis, Mayo went 3rd. Between the 2 hours that the trade was known and then killed, what happened?

Did the Sonics hear that Mayo was going to Memphis, but not about the trade with Minnesota?
Did Seattle find out that Minnesota was just going to take Love at 3?
