He's listed above, but yea, he's available. You think LB will get him to be a good defender?

Re: early look at the depth chart
I would hope that a combination of LB and playing with EO50 again would get the most out out him. He did well next to EO50 at UConn so I don't think it's far fetched to think that he would do well next to him here while Alexis learns the ropes.
I think that he or Frye (because of the past relationship with LB) would be ideal as an effective stop gap.
I have high hopes for Ajinca - eventually.

Re: early look at the depth chart
Looking at the 5 man stats from 82games last year:
http://www.82games.com/0708/0708CHA2.HTM
The best line up is actually Felton-Carroll-Jrich-Dudley-Okafor Net +59 (surprisingly Dudley at PF is actually better than Wallace)
I think this line-up makes a lot of sense from a shooting standpoint. With Felton-Jrich-GW-Okafor-Nazi line-up, the only shooter on the field is Jrich. Making it easy for our opponent to defend by clogging the paint. With Carroll as a starter, it really spreads the floor.
I wasn't that surprised hearing all those trades about GW because the #'s have shown that the team can perform better without him. Even the last 2 months when GW was injured, Bobcats roughly won 50%.

Re: early look at the depth chart
despite our late season heriocs i dont think i am ready to agree that we are a better team w/out wallace. wallace carried the team on his back the first half of the season when everone else was playing w/ a thumb up their ass. that being said, there is no doubt we need more outside shooting from our starters. i do not like the lineup of felton/jrich/wallace/okafor/nazr. never have; never will. either move wallace to a 6th man role and move carroll into the starting lineup or move nazr to the bench and add carroll or dudley to the starting lineup with wallace or dudley at pf... at least until zut alors is ready to start in place of nazr

Re: early look at the depth chart
speaking of wallace....
would it really be such a bad idea to turn wallace into a 6th man? am i crazy? i've always felt wallace was better when he was fresh. maybe limiting his minutes to 30mpg off the bench would be the best way to make sure he is always at 100% energy. plus, our second unit could use the spark he would bring. of course, he would be in the game when it mattered.

Re: early look at the depth chart
I think its a great idea. Unfortunately not all great ideas can be accepted. A 9 million dollar 6th man??? and I am quite confident that Wallace will not accept that role. If I remembered correctly he didn't even want to play the PF position because of his multiple concussions.
1st Unit : Felton - Carroll - Jrich - Dudley - Okafor
2nd Unit : DJ - Weaver - Morrison - Wallace - Ajinca or DJ - Weaver - Wallace - Ajinca - Nazr (if Morrison sucks)
ahhhh this looks like a playoff team roster doesn't it ... could've... should've ... would've ...

Re: early look at the depth chart
Well I doubt we will rotate them like this. I know it is tempting to form two separate line ups (starters and bench) but this is not hockey and there will be often 1-3 starter all the time.
For me, we have 12 dressed players, i think the odd man out on injury list is going to be Hollins (if resigned) if nothing change. Of course Sean May is the 15th man even if we would have 14th players.
(pg - pg/sg - sg/sf - sf - sf/pf - pf - pf/c - c; injury list):
Felton, Augustin - Weaver - Richardson, Carroll - Morrison - Wallace, Dudley - Ajinca, Davidson - Okafor - Mohammed; IR: Hollins - ? - May
I think Davidson and Morrison will have the most troubel to find minutes (aka 11th and 12th men).
I think we have pretty good bunch of scorers (Richardson, Wallace) shooters (Richardson, Carroll, Morrison) and defenders (Weaver, Dudley, Wallace) at swingamn spots to make live of opposite bench players really difficult. 2-3 of these 6 will be always on court (I realyl hope no Augustin-Felton occur) and we have enough options to find out some connections that would work.
As for starting PF I think Wallace, Dudley and Okafor will take minutes at 4 unless (or until) Ajinca or Davidson will earn more minutes at PF.
Fat: I really like the uidea of Wallace against benchies (technicalyl still starting). That would be like wolf between lambs.

Re: early look at the depth chart
if its good enough for manu and the spurs then it should be good enough for crash and the bcats.
in fact, manu and crash are similar in a lot of ways... both play balls to the walls all the time, as its the only way they no how to play. both players have coaches who are concerned about their health and durability for 82 games. both can greatly impact a game in 30 minutes or less and probably play better when fresh and healthy.
there is no shame in being a great 6th man.
