Hi, phx suns fan here
would you guys do this deal? diaw is good, versatile player, however he cant play along with amare, they both need the ball to make impact, and now with shaq on board he will have more trouble as these are both superstars, so looking at the salaries, diaw and tucker for g.wallace match...and we need a player like him...fair trade.
lets pull the trigger

1 French PF per team is enough, no deal.

So let me get this straight. A player who doesn't fit on your team anymore and Tucker who has all of 48 minutes of NBA experience for "we need a player like him", Gerald Wallce.
Well we need Stoudmire and don't need May. So May and Mohammed for Amare. Because we really need a player like him.

We should get at least one first, Amare could ruin our chemistry.Rich4114 wrote:Hollins for Amare and a 2nd round pick.

If it is any comfort, it got shot down on the Suns board (not with as much sarcasm) as well.

errrr....
I am a bit afraid to voice my opinion cause I wouldn't mind doing this trade if the suns are willing to include a 1st round (it should be around the 20's anyway).
Don't shoot me down just yet. Diaw can play both PF and the C (exactly what we need), can shoot 15-20ft and he is agile enough to guard perimeter PFs. And for all the talk that Diaw is only a one year wonder, his stat last year AS A STARTER wasn't all that bad. It certainly doesnt match his salary, but ...
12pts (52%FG) , 5.7reb, 5ast, 1stl, .8blk is pretty good.
His prime year 2005-2006 season AS A STARTER:
14pts (53%FG) , 7reb, 6.5ast, .8stl, 1blk
While there has been someone of a drop-off, it hasn't been a significant one.
For the suns, they need to find a replacement for Grant Hill cause I dont think he will hold up for the another season. This trade makes a lot of sense IMO.

I mean, that's still miles from Wallace's production, and Wallace makes about the same amount of money. Diaw isn't the worst player for us to pick up, but he's not a good enough rebounder and he's not going to help us much at all on offense. It has to be much more than just a first rounder to make this happen.
