Why not make a deal with a key RFA? If you force the hand of a couple of these teams maybe they blink and we get our starting PF without a trade?
TARGET 1: Brandon Bass - Mavricks. Really started to come on last year. Never to be a superstar but he's got the strength and athleticism to complement Okafor. I'd do a full MLE with multiple years for this guy. I think he has the chance to be a key player. Make it hard for the Mav's to match and he could be ours.
If the Mav's match, then perhaps:
TARGET 2: Carl Landry - Rockets. Some good tools with this guy. Not as valuable a target as Bass, so not as robust a contract offer. Rockets likely to match, but who knows? I'd want some skinny on that knee before signing anything.
If we could get Bass on board it frees us up to focus on the players we have, let May and Ammo show what they can do in camp and pre-season, and perhaps trade a reserve 3 for a reserve swing/PG.

Sham (of Sham Sports) would hold a lot of credibility in this IMO.

Re: RFA Targets - PF's
yup.
sham sports lists bass' contract as unguaranteed for 08/09
dx lists bass' contract as partially guaranteed for 08/09
hoopshype and patricia's bball stuff shows him under a minimum deal through 08/09
it definitely appears as though bass is not a RFA this summer

Re: RFA Targets - PF's
OK, I stand corrected on Bass' status (as indicated in another thread...sorry Fats).
Bass may be a bit short but so was LJ!
Yeah, it seems like no one out there is available....or no one wants us....or our FO doesn't want anyone....
I'm tired of speculating or trying since the Cats seem to not be interested, but thanks for helping me with my latest postulation and correcting my error!
