He's not the greatest at recognizing double teams and passing out, but I wouldn't call him "selfish,"

I would say that because you used the term "rekon" that you are from Oz and don't see many games and from that use stats as your guide.

People used to call Troy Murphy selfish on the warriors because if he got the ball he always shot. But it you watched his teammates, the moment Troy got the ball they all stood around. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. If everyone expects him to shoot and no one moves, he will be forced to shoot.

okafor is selfish because every time he shoots it takes one more shot away from felton. ;)

i'd say the opposite is true.... okafor needs to become more selfish. not in the sense that he should shoot everytime he touches the ball, but in the sense that he needs to DEMAND the ball more in the post when he isnt getting it (i'm not getting into those reasons).

It is true that Okafor almost never passes, but he also doesn't see the ball that often, and most of the time when he does it's in a position where he can score (i.e., open dunks/layups, 2' from the basket, etc.). So I wouldn't call him "selfish" in the way you might accuse someone like AI or Kobe, or even Zach Randolph, but I also wouldn't say he's UNselfish.

As for Fats' comment, I think it's fairly inconclusive at the moment how many shots Okafor can realistically take. He sees the ball a fair amount, and he could always convert some of his turnovers into shots, but it's possible he could handle more of the offensive load.
