Anyone know anything about Justin Williams? If he got cut by Sactown, that is not a good sign.

Says he is a shot blocker. He sort of sounds like a juiced up Davidson - which makes me think that Davidson (or Hollins) will be shown the door if we need to make roster space.

I also wonder what this means for A.Brown's chances?

Waived by the Warriors (this season) and the Kings (before).
Best case scenario is Michael Ruffin in my opinion. Maybe the Bobcats see more in him.

He had a solid rookie year with the Kings (the last guy to do that thats comparable is Michael Stewart) albeit it was only 26 games, 1 start. Can't hit a free throw to save his life. But hes big; 6'10", 260lbs. In college he was a solid shotblocker and rebounder.

Considering this teams frontcourt its not a bad move, but this isn't a great move. Hopefully he doesn't screw Andre Brown out of a job AND playing time. Hes also still only 24 years old and spent his first two years of college at the JUCO level.

I'm pretty much hoping the Bobcats have a trade, any trade, in mind.

He was 210lb coming out of college and is now 260lb. Way to hit the weights!!

He rebounds and defends right? Sounds like the type of big LB was asking for. Younger, larger Reggie Evans?

Over on BobcatsPlanet, some are saying he also had a sexual assault issue in Sac. Nice. Way to pick 'em guys! No reason to go out and make a bold move via trade to get a quality big man. We can just get the rejects from loser teams and also get those with character flaws! Hurray!!!

Maybe. No doubt it's one of the 5 athletic bigs he wanted. He sounds like a bouncy, Ben Wallace type?

Be interesting to see if LB lets him take a shot at Dwight tomorrow and how he fares.

In his quite-limited minutes, he did indeed rebound very well, and he did, um, I guess block some shots. Career .348 free throw shooter, probably can't do anything but dunk on the offensive end. I doubt he plays very much at all.

Note to Felton: thank you for the "don't get excited" in the topic, it actually worked, and I definitely would have been let down reading the thread otherwise.

Directly lifted from Shamsports: October 2007: Accused of rape. Later dropped. It never became official, but his lawyer alluded to the fact that he did nail the chick while on camera, which would have been rather conclusive in a court of law as to the level of consensual loving.

I imagine that if Justin had raped this girl ON CAMERA it wouldn't have been dropped.

FWIW: April 2003: Arrested for domestic violence after pushing his ex-girlfriend into a wall. Was suspended for 3 games by the NBA and sentenced to a year's probation.

Guess who that guy is? Right, a Golden State Warrior reject with a character flaw. Hurray!!!

They probably just didn't want him to team up with Jackson.

I like it, big body center, shot-block machine, somewhat offensive rebounder and unselfish under the basket - if he is any good I think Hollins as our 3rd center is gone (maybe as a filler in trade).
Williams could teach Davidson and Ajinça how to gain weight and May how to be in shape with 260+lbs :)

Maybe we'll see some hack-a-Dwight next game.

An if he is really a powerful finisher (put backs) he could be useful as a tool for Brown in teaching Emeka how to finish or how not let the shot get block (reality check).

"Look Emeka, Justin has zero shots blocked this season so far! Got it?"

I can only hope that this is a "test the water" move indicative of a trade of multiple players for a legit PF, but dreaming is cheap. This guy is no more than a 5th body off the bench in the bigs rotation, so I'm not sure what that says about our current crop (other than what we know....they STINK).
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

And if WE know that, you can bet your @** that 29 other teams in the NBA know that too! :sour: :sour: :sour:

Also, any of the final five on the bench needn't be surprised if they were looking at new scenery come trade time. Of the needs that this team has, a "keeper" starting quality power forward is probably rated a 25 on my 1-10 scale. Couple our need for a starter at PF with the perception that I have that every other team in the league has stability at that position, PLUS there is no known PF talent that is currently rated 10-20 on the 2009 Mock Draft list- folks, we have a MAJOR DILEMMA if we are talking about drafting one next year. Remember, we used our # 1 next year to get project Ajinca (assuming of course that we actually MAKE the playoffs).

Somebody needs wings somewhere. We have a ton. Some teams have a ton of power forwards. We need one good one. It's time for MJ to up the ante on Mr. Johnson's "Blank Check", don't you think?

Claw on, front office- Get our lineup Balanced!
In loving memory of Barbara Hickman Taylor 07/20/1955-11/27/2010. Rest in Peace Sweet Lady!
