I went to the Bobcats preseason game Saturday and 2 things really stuck out...1) If our jump shots arent falling we look really bad, JRich & Felton were looking iffy & Carroll either was passing up or couldnt hit the open J...and 2) We have no low post game to speak of at all...Emeka was active putting back boards and when we drove the lane and dropped it off to him he was dunking with authority but we didnt have 1 single person who could/would post up and command the ball Sean May look seriously outta shape and even when he was playing he wanted to face the basket and shoot the J. I just read today that Elton Brown was cut by the Bulls...he is a guy that I think we should look at, he's been ripping up the D-league and is hungry to show he can stick in the league. He does 2 things we really need post up & rebound....Davidson didnt play at all Saturday, Hollins played limited but still looks confused, Andre Brown hustled but didnt really stand out, the best looking big I saw was Justin Williams he was very active on the boards and had like 2 blocks....I know Elton Brown isnt the ultimate answer to our problems but based on what I have seen in the past and this preaseason I think he is atleast worth a look......
If not why not give Darius Miles atleast a look he was just cut in Boston and I dont think we have to pay him that much thanks to his contract w/ Portland again not the answer but atleast a band-aid to our biggest wound that management dont seem that anxious to stitch up.....

Re: Elton Brown
I've proposed Brown for a couple of seasons but am met with valid responses that he has a poor work ethic and poorly conditioned. He might be foul prone as well. Anyway, I do think he could be effective for 20 minutes a game.
I don't see how Miles would fit into the picture at all.

Re: Elton Brown
Walt, I would rather give Brown a shot but DMiles fits in becuz right now we are a team that currently has a frontcourt that consist of an decent but not great Okafor who's basically a C in a PF's body, an overweight, oft-injured & lazy May, overpaid & aging Nazr, 2 young bigs that dont seem to get it in Davidson & Hollins, and a guy that barely is hanging on in the league in A. Brown and they all except Brown have guaranteed contracts...I cant see why either Brown or Miles isnt someone we look at, if they dont work out cool waive 'em, neither one is gonna command a big contract from us or hurt us financially for the future and what damage can they do if you really look at what we have now??

Re: Elton Brown
Miles is not really a big...
I wouldn't be offended by bringing in Brown, but we don't have any roster spots. Who do you cut to get him?
Is he preferable to Williams, Andre Brown or Hollins?

Re: Elton Brown
Elton Brown is a preferable low post option to Andre Brown, Williams, Hollins, Davidson and maaaaybe even Okafor. If I had things my way, these would be the bigs:
Okafor and Mohammed as the NBA caliber big men
Davidson and May- the yin and yang of NBA face up bigs
Williams-replacement level guy that has the athleticism and motor to do the dirty work on the glass and defensively
Ajinca-French KG or bust
Hollins and Andre Brown have become totally expendable in my eyes due to the addition of Williams, but I've been high on Williams since I read about him coming out of Wyoming.

Re: Elton Brown
I forgot about Alexis...he actually looked good Saturday night, didnt really play much but when he was in you can see he can pass, has good handle for a 7 footer and very good soft jump shot....people clowned the 'Cats for that pick but if he listens to LB and puts on weight...he is soooo skinny, this kid is gonna be a player if he puts on weight....
Hollins, A Brown & Williams can all be replaced in my eyes and I want to like Davidson soo much but LB doesnt seem too have any confidence in him yet.
