Is this feasible or desirable?

The Knicks just announced they will not extend David Lee or Nate Robertson by 10/31 deadline, making them FA's next yr. They have Duhan as their PG, which ain't much in my book. This will give them a PG in Ray and a young PF to grow or let contract expire. We get our PF in Lee and a experienced backup PG in Robertson. Lee avg 11 pts 9 reb and Robertson 13 pts 3 assts. Robertson is more of a Combo guard I know, but he can play PG to help DJ and he is insurance in case J-Rich goes down or Carroll is lost.

Not a major overhaul, but I think it helps us out with our shortfalls. Is it something you would want or you think NY would do?

I go back and forth on the various Lee for Felton deals. Nate and DJ would get absolutely smoked defensively every single game. I'm not sure David Lee is worth that.

Nate "Robinson" btw,

I agree with e4... while Lee would solve our rebounding problems, he's not much on defense, and we'd suddenly have a huge problem defending PGs. Lee is also probably best-suited to a fast-paced offense, which I don't think Larry Brown is going to enact.

We need a post up banger type of PF who can score close to the basket. If they really are shopping Wallace, I would do everything possible to see if a Boozer deal can be done. I just can't let that idea go. :)

David Lee is someone that I kind of flip-flop on. He gives the team another high energy player and is a good stat PF, but he just doesn't fit this teams needs enough and isn't much of a defender.

I kind of expect Lee to be chasing a lot of money this year and think thats why the Knicks are holding out to extend him. They are waiting for another team to dictate his market (see the Bobcats on Anderson Varejao AND Carl Landry).

Exactly. He'll be a restricted free agent in 2009, so the Knicks have the chance to match any offer. Can the Bobcats offer mroe than the MLE next year? David Lee is perhaps the player that garners the most hope from Knick fans, so even for marketing purposes, I think its unlikely he isn't a Knick at this time next year,
