Walt, we didn't really shut West down. He was getting plenty of easy looks he normally drops but was just off all night long. It's like he was playing drunk. CP3 wasn't driving in the first half either, 0 pts and I could probably count the times he got in the lane on one hand until the 3rd quarter.

Great win though and it's nice to see us win a close game. Hornets couldn't just turn it on when they wanted and win like they thought they could against us.

Oh and Great job by Mek and Felton/DJ on guarding CP3 and Chandler on those P&R's. No oops tonight from my memory and Mek did a great job trying to keep Paul out of the lane and yet still staying with Chandler when he was actually in the game. I know Mek caused Paul to go up a passer and get caught for it once in the 4th.

i still feel guilty for sitting w/ a hornets fan, but it made for good times. he kept cheering for the hornets by calling them their old names based on #s. posey (41) was glen rice, david west (30) was dell curry etc... funny stuff.

maybe 8k at the game. disappointing crowd for a friday night game.

only half the ladycats showed up.

where were the 500 chris family members last night? i didnt hear 'em.

felton seemed to be really focused tonight. something about paul brings out the best in him.

hornets were really packing the lane and cutting off the drive and mek post ups. i think thats partly why carroll, ammo and dj got a lot of time. we needed the shooters.

ammo is 100% better on defense. its night and day. amazing what a little effort will do when playing defense. while he'll never good a good defender at least now he is initiating contact, staying in front of his man, rotating into the paint on defense to cut off penetration and running at shooters with purpose. now, whether he'll take a charge or dive on the floor for a loose ball, that remains to be seen.

carroll really made a huge impact in the game. i probably doesnt show in the stats but hammer was doing a lot of the little things last night.

lb said after the game that he made a point to play dj extended minutes vs paul. he wanted dj to get the experience of playing against the best pg in the league. good move from a vet coach. dj responded well. his best game, imo.
