OT: Belinelli possibly to Bobcats

Post#1 » by Tommy Udo 6 » Wed Nov 12, 2008 6:47 pm

This is a thread on Warriors Forum.

The original poster is an Italian who has a reputation for accuracy. On page 4, he mentions that Belinelli will be traded very soon to either Bobcats or Raptors.

I thought you guys may be interested

gotta be the raptors, we don't need him and they have a habit of picking up foreign players.

I dont think Belinelli is the key player. It's probably a Harrington trade with Belinelli as filler. Both Toronto & Charlotte were among those after Harrington. (so were NY & Chicago among others)

I'm guessing a Wallace for Harrington swap possibility with fillers. Plus, GS needs a PG badly so Mr Felton may be part of this deal - if it involves Charlotte

Eh...Belli dupilcates Morrison...and Carroll....I don't think there is any way that three white SG/SF will be on the roster. I do think the Cats make a trade within the next week or two.

Thanks for the heads up Tommy.

Wasn't Beli meant to be able to play the point - his handles and BBIQ were that tight?

Has he shown that in the NBA? Is he a starting calibre two guard?

Beli has not played much - Nelson likes veterans. Beli is considered an SG & has not played PG for Warriors, but he may be capable of it. He is being showcased recently has has had 2 very good games. A trade anywhere would be good for him since Nelson did not play him much until recently

I'd find it really strange if we brought Beli in - or Harrington and Bargs for that matter - considering LB has already said that he thinks we have too many jump shooters and really all those three guys are are more jump shooters.

So far I think Belinelli has shown himself to be a marginal NBA player; in effect, he's JJ Redick: a spot-up shooter who has negligible skills otherwise. In that sense he is closer to duplicating Carroll than Morrison.

On the other hand, he has absolutely killed it whenever the game doesn't matter... in summer league and preseason, he's the man. Does that mean with increased playing time he's sick? I don't know, but to me his value is pretty limited until he does something in a real game.

I would totally dig Belinelli and Wright for Carroll

Belinelli, Wright, and Williams for Carroll works.

Huh??

We wouldn't get Beli straight up for Hammer or Wright straight up for Hammer let alone Beli AND Wright for Hammer.

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, I think Belinelli projects as a potential Manu Ginobili kind of player. He's a fantastic shooter and very nice at driving to the hoop. So his ceiling is from Redick (like Paydro said) to Ginobili in my opinion.

Belinnelli did play a full game at point in summerball and finished with 8 assists. He got a few min at PG in a preseason game. Compared to Carroll, Beli is easily quicker. Beli may be a more Hot-Cold perimeter shooter, if he's on he hits everything..cold..he goes 2-9. Frankly, Golden St should take more of a look at him at point. Azubuike has a big head start at SG.

No....the Warriors won't want to trade for Carroll
CENSORED... No comment.

Marco is not a PG. He has trouble against ball pressure bringing it up court. He is not quicker than Carroll. About the same. I think Carroll is better in most ways, though Marco does have two things over him:
Marco has better court vision and will make a few nice passes now and then.
Marco can get off his shot more quickly, and can hit tougher shots. The downside to this is that he hits less of the wide open ones than Hammer.
