Re: New Starters Friday?
Wow...Jinx doesn't look ready at all. Still looks deeply confused on pick and rolls. Also note that Augustin would be replacing Carrol, not Felton for the dreaded 2 PG lineup.

I'd rather start Jinx (nice nickname, im keeping it) at PF than anyone else.
Anyone.
Get the man some experience. Learning on the go. Worked for Morrison

Re: New Starters Friday?
Ball handling isn't our problem, scoring is. Why not start Ammo at SG? I think using Alexis as starting PF is a nice option considering there's nothing else. Looks like Sean May is going to be useless to us this year and there's no other options unless we get McDyse.

I disagree. Ball handling and creating plays from the two spot is, and always has been, a problem for us.

Re: New Starters Friday?
^ Cuz DJ brings handles and athleticism.
I thought Larry Brown wouldn't play rookies, yet Lex gets way more burn than the vet Nazr. You know what this means right? It wasn't "rookies" at all...it was Darko.
Course looking at how much LB played Frye & Robinson in NY that little blurb looked to be BS anyway.

Heh...if I had time I would have most definitely used your posts as a reference. We need a bad*ss search feature on here.
I know some of you guys are very fond of Lex, but I'm starting to think LB plays rookies TOO much! Of course if he's matched up on Horford or Smith he'll be on the bench in foul trouble soon anyway.

Aren't they both out hurt?

Horford was listed "day to day" but ended up not playing against WAS so I was assuming he'd be back by Friday. Of course if I'm not mistaken they're listing Swish the same way...so who knows.

Re: New Starters Friday?
I never understood how the "Larry Brown doesn't play young players, Exhibit A: Darko" argument managed to survive the very unremarkable career that Darko went on to have. To this day you will see people in forums all over Realgm say that Larry Brown hates rookies and point to Darko as an (usually the only) example. The other popular anti-Larry Brown argument is his performance with Team USA, but he's not the only coach to under-perform with Team USA, and for christ-sakes that team had Starbury on it! and Vin Baker! not exactly up to snuff with the bunch this summer.

Re: New Starters Friday?
i have high hopes for jinx but starting? maybe in the nbdl. if anything give starting job to twiggy. he's played well. but we all agree may should not be starting. he is a shell of his former self. he looks awful. and carroll looks awful, so... dj is fine by me.

If Jinx does start, any1 want to have an over/under for how many minutes it would take him to get 2 fouls. I say 3 min.

It's called we have crap for talent. Our best playmaker is Felton, and he forces a lot of stuff. That's sorta sad. While DJ is a playmaker offensively, we get owned defensively because then we're not only undersized up front, we're undersized in the back court.
I'd rather start Ammo over Carroll until J-Rich comes back and give him the green light. Create some picks for him to move and score on. While Ammo has hit some big spot up shots for us, let this guy opperate in the paint and on the move and it will result in high % scoring.
Defensively we'll suffer, but not too bad if we play it smart and play good team D.

Re: New Starters Friday?
Maybe this is a smoke screen? Maybe Hammer and McMay are sitting because they are about to be traded so we don't want to risk injury which would negate the deal?

Re: New Starters Friday?
Vincent did this last year... what's the deal with joke starters? We're just going to pull Ajinca after 2 minutes, I don't see the point to this. Just for the opening tip?
By the way, as pathetic as Nazr's minutes are, they're still more than Ajinca has been getting. This is because Ajinca is terrible, so I'm really not looking forward to it if Brown does intend to play him real minutes.

I'm done with the conspiracy stuff. I don't really think our team/management is clever enough to do any of the cloak and dagger stuff so I"m calling a spade a spade on this one.
