probably it's "Bring Back Bernie Bickerstaff Bring Back Brevin Knight."

While I'm not totally sure Bernie wouldn't be a good thing, I feel pretty sure that BK is done for. Maybe his younger equivalent, Earl Watson?

VERY interesting thread...

First of all I don't think it's ridiculous to give LB more rope than Vincent when one was a first-year coach and the other is a hall of famer with 30+ years experience, 90% it successfull. It seems that at the end, the players despised Vincent and if he had stayed on, an ugly situation would have only got worse. Personally, I would be willing to bet right now that Sam Vincent is never a head coach in the NBA again.

From what I've seen we are a pretty good defensive team that would be very good if it could rebound. Offensively we are fairly bad normally and even worse without our best scorer. There are some decent offensive players on the team but nobody who can consistenty create. Augustin looks like he might be a guy who can do that but it's early.

To me as far as "coaching" in a basketball team I look for a few things:

1. The rotation.... are the best players playing, are they getting enough rest at appropriate times,
2. Defensive organization....do the players rotate quickly, how alert are players off the ball, do they help early enough, does everyone know what the plan is on pick and rolls, over or under the pick, etc.
3. Offensive organization...how comfortable do the players look running plays, how is the spacing, are guys going to the hoop running into another guy cutting into that space at the same time?
4. Specific Tactics....Do you put in somebody tall to cover the inbounder when there is less than 2 seconds left? do you score/get a stop out of timeouts? who takes the shot at the end of the game? are good free-throw shooters in the game when the other team is fouling at the end? (seems obvious, but Vincent didn't understand)
5. Playing hard....self-explanatory

In my opinion every one of these things is fine with the Bobcats, our problems lie elsewhere. It's not the coaches fault that Raymond Felton and Gerald Wallace can't shoot. It's not his fault that Jared Dudley can't box out someone 50 pounds heavier and 4 inches taller.

I think the bottom line is that you need to draft well to have success in the NBA and all the coaching in the world can't change that.

#1 - Sam Vincent sucks as a head coach. Maybe one day he'll be mediocre. There's no doubt he himself lost us some games.

#2 - This is a Bernie Bickerstaff built team. He's the one who made the mistake of going for quantity over quality. He did a good job at putting a bunch of good role players together, but when he had the chance to land his superstar he didn't take it.

This team has just been poorly constructed for the NBA. Look at our roster, we're smaller than the rest of the NBA, can't shoot, and can't defend well save for a few highlight blocks here and there. We also have zero guys with attitude that demand winning.

There's definitely some pieces here and if we made a smart move or two we could turn into a lower tier playoff team since we've got a good coach. But it doesn't matter who the coach is, you can't take a team that's outmatched and has less talent very far. My only hope is we stop messing up in the lottery, because nobody who's been through this organization has any sort of track record for doing well at the draft.... NOBODY, and it all starts with the draft.

1. Everyone knew there would also be an adjustment period for this team playing for Larry.

2. Who says that?

3. I don't know, I haven't seen the games either.

4. Experience VS Inexperience. You keep harping, it doesn't do anything. You say it less often, its more effective.

5.Why not, we said this team needs frontcourt help when Vincent was here. We said the same thing when Bernie was head coach/GM.

Larry Browns history says that things like this will happen. Its his way of building towards the greater good. Vincent had minimal coaching experience at any level. You knew he would be outmatched and most likely a bad fit before the season even started. The fact that he managed 32 wins is nothing short of a miracle.

As far as the Knicks;
2 wins vs the Wizards, 1 vs Oklahoma City, 1 vs Memphis, and 1 vs Charlotte.

The Bobcats have had a harder schedule and less talent this season. Say what you want about the New York Knicks, but they didn't lack for talent. The problem before this season was the fact that Isiah had no idea how to utilize and mesh it.

The Bobcats should be better, but I don't really think that much better. I said before the season that Sean "McFatty" May would be the x-factor for this season. Others said Felton. I stand by my idea that if May could even put up decent numbers this team would be so much better.

Unfortunately, this is still May http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/393 ... obc_thanks
look at him eyeball that stuff.
