The Phoenix View

Post#1 » by fluffernutter » Thu Dec 11, 2008 1:40 pm

It's interesting to see what the Phoenix side is making of the deal.

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=860533

It's about 50/50.

Some are unhappy about completely gutting their defense, and are not sure that JRich can make up for it.

Others are just happy to be rid of Diaw's contract.

Hmmm.... it's a strange trade.

I guess I'll give it 10 games to see what happens.

Phoenix has nothing to complain about, they need to make a splash now while Shaq is still breathing

Charlotte may lose out on pure talent, but it could be a really good chemistry move; an anti-Isiah Thomas move if you will. The only part I really don't like is the 2nd round pick part.

I always thought Charlotte needed a perimeter type PF; I was always trying to find a way to get Okur to Charlotte in hypothetical trades, but Utah and Charlotte are bad trading partners. But Diaw could surprise people. His best season came when Amare was out and Diaw was a big part of the offense and he thrived on that. When he's relegated to 25 mpg role-player, his game suffers. So I think a bigger role with Charlotte could help him out. And if anybody tries to say he's a Phx system player, ignore that because the reason he wasn't good in ATL was because they were playing him in the backcourt. Play him at PF and Center and he can do some good things because he can defend bigger players and take them off the dribble too.

I think Brown will get the best out of Diaw, and if you keep Wallace, he and Diaw will form a potent tandem like Diaw/Marion did back in our epic Amare-less season

His skillset is unique, and if he brings his A game he'll live up to his contract

Bell...I dunno, will you guys keep him?

Singletary....meh...he seemed ok in limited minutes but he won't last....seems like he's closing in on "most times traded" before playing a full season...

Good luck with both

I wonder if we will trade him to a contender as the trade deadline draws closer.
