Paydro, you have bug there. Augustin is spelled correctly. At least and an extra e, jeez.

what prompted all this? i must have missed some ridiculous dj trade offers or something.
Maybe we should sticky this when such offer occurs?

No, no, you don't misspell your own team's players... if anything I should have called him Kenyon Martin or Bradley Milleré (you know you love that accent... alt+0233, one of the only ones I remember from Spanish class, along with alt+0161 (¡) and alt+0191 (¿)).

OT: you know i have "é" in my native language too, so i have it on keyboard directly.) (at the place of zero)
"No, no, you don't misspell your own team's players..." You would be surprised... I remember things such as Gordan etc. from hardcore-trollers-by-accident

Re: I wouldn't trade Augustin for two All-Stars
I know exactly what Hamilton’s talking about and share his sentiments regarding some teams overvaluing their young prospects. As Ham indicated in the first post, his thread was sparked by the Rudy Fernandez talk:
Wallace and Carroll to Portland for Rudy Fernandez, Batum and Lafrentz’ expiring.
Now reasonable people can agree to differ on whether such a trade would ultimately be the way to go for Portland but it’s a respectable proposal that could ultimately benefit both teams and would at least be worthy of some cursory consideration..
However, if this were to be floated on the Blazers board, you would be excoriated by posters who think it is insulting to them and patently absurd.
They put Fernandez on a pedestal and many of their fans consider him untouchable.
Now granted, Fernandez is a promising young player who could develop into a great player in the future; that’s why we would be interested in him in the first place. But he’s hardly the basketball messiah. We’re talking about someone averaging 11 points, 3.5 rebounds on 41% shooting.
Meanwhile, Wallace, while he has his flaws, is one of the top 8-12 SFs in the league. He’s not chopped liver and would help Portland or any number of other teams immensely. Once he has overcome his recent family tragedies and gets back on the court for a few games, he’ll get back to business as usual: 19 points, 8 rebs 2-3 steals.
Here’s an example of the type of mindset Ham is talking about: a Charlotte Trade Thread on the Blazers board: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=861449&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
To summarize, a Portland poster suggests that Charlotte trade both Felton and Wallace for Outlaw, Channing Frye and Lafrentz.
One poster responds by suggesting that “the blazers are maybe giving up too much.”
Another states that he would want to “acquire Wallace without trading any of the BIG 4 (I'm including Rudy from now on)”

Re: I wouldn't trade Augustin for two All-Stars
It is kinda funny how most realgm posters think they should be able to trade for a teams star player and only have to give up bench players they don't use anyway. Sometimes I scour the trade board just to say no to the trades involving the Bobcats. Of course usually SLAM beats me to it.

You should want the respect of someone that makes NBA JAM game threads!
PS - I actually like Steve Smith. He was great back during our first season.

Re: I wouldn't trade Augustin for two All-Stars
god. just read that blazer thread about ray. yeah, dude has his faults and drives us all a little mad at times, but wow, he is undervalued by their posters. ray would be a great fit next to roy. his defense alone makes him more valuable than any pg they've had in the past 5 years. oh well, dont worry blazer fans, i'm pretty sure we arent throwing ray in on deals just as salary filler.

Philosophically, all the trade ideas they were tossing around to land Wallace & Felton/Augustin for their mediocre expendables were ridiculous.
But, as a practical matter, after last week's Jrich give away, I wouldnt put anything past our distinguished front office.
