Bobcats now in High Def (might be a bad thing)

Post#1 » by Battery » Tue Dec 16, 2008 8:32 pm

Starting on Thursday December 18, Fox Sports Carolinas will be broadcasting in HD on Time Warner Cable! Channel 263. Now we get to watch Okafor fumble passes and whine like a baby in crystal clear quality. :)

Also, I know we don't televise a bunch of games, but if you have NBA League Pass, they show the Bobcats games using the away teams broadcast. I still cannot believe the Cats do not televise all of their games. What year is this? 1985? :-?

Anyway on a side note, Time Warner Cable does do an excellent job with adding tons of new HD channels.

God damn, Raleigh gets everything before Charlotte. :x

If the Big Ten Network can produce a stunning HD channel, how come the Bobcats can't do the same??

Yaknow, the glitching was bearable, but once my dvr started recording another program it was almost unwatchable, so perhaps it's my box. It definitely freaks out when I'm watching something while dvring something else, unless 2 programs are being broadcast simultaneously and I'm watching one of them live, then it's okay. It seems to matter what channel I'm trying to watch in the first case, and since it was glitching some before the dvr kicked on, I imagine it's feed strength issue. I'd swap out the box to see if that's the problem, but then I'd lose all of my Good Eats (and that's not happening).

So last night I go to the new HD channel 263 which is Fox Sports Carolina to watch the Bobcats and what do I see? Nothing. No Bobcats. I put the guide on and they say their televising the Atlanta Hawks game?? WTF? Atlanta Hawks? The channel is called Fox Sports CAROLINA, not Fox Sports Georgia!! And they didn't even show Hawks, it was I guess blacked out. So instead I had the watch the Bobcats on channel 40 which is the regular Fox Sports South. What the heck is going on here? Either the Cats are getting treated like a D-League team or Bob Johnson just signed another crappy deal. Afterall, the arena is called the Time Warner Cable Arena so you'd think they would want to give preference to the Bobcats and put them on the new HD channel. Nope. And tonight, same sh*t, not on the HD channel. :x

Fox Sports South =/= FSN Carolina. I know this because TWC in Raleigh doesn't carry Fox Sports South, so the majority of the games for the entire season are unavailable.

Be grateful.

Yeah I was wrong. I thought they did. I counted and there is only 18 games left televised which sucks.

Sort of in the center. In between where Capital and New Bern intersect with 440. Tower Shopping Center or the Iceplex mean anything to you?
