Someone just posted on the Cavs board that is is Por/Cha/Cle and I came here to see how true it was. In the posts above you talk about Felton and/or Wallace for Frye and bayliss or Outlaw.

Well the person on the Cavs board says that Cats are looking for caprelief because this will happen after the Knicks trade[Curry/Lee for Bell/Diaw]. So Felton goes to Portland, Cavs actually get Wallace and Frye, while Cats get Wally, Shavlik Randolf(don't ask me), but I think they also get Sergio Rodriguez(since he has been requesting a trade), and 1st(Cavs). I can't see Cats making that change unless they are really trying to cut cap after getting Curry. And if anyone is holding out I am sure it is the Cats but I can see them trying to get Blake instead or Bayliss as stated above.

If anyone knows more please post.

ESPN 850AM reported that the Cavaliers were having "discussions" with Charlotte and Portland.

The host said that he'd heard something about the Cats sending Morrison and Wallace to Cleveland for Wally and the Cavs 2009 1st round pick. He said that the source was reliable, but didn't confirm that any deal had been reached, only that they had "discussed" a possible deal with those players being the primary pieces.

The Portland part of the deal apparently is separate, as it has to do with Sasha Pavlovic going to Portland For Channing Frye and filler.

If someone in Charlotte hears anything on this, please make a thread on the Cavaliers REALGM forum... unless one is already there...then just add a post about what you may have heard.

Thanx... hope this helps

I'd hate that trade personally, we'd be losing one of our best rebounders for another spot-up shooter. I wonder since basically the whole NBA world views the Bobcats as "inadequate" they think we just want to get rid of salaries since "we're so bad." These kind of trade rumors are really starting to get annoying; the outsiders don't understand that we have a man with a plan now and his name is Brown, Larry Brown. ILBIT

another crap trade where we give up a key peice and the other team gives up crap...we have no use for wally...he is as useless as carrol or morrison...personally i dont want to trade with the cavs cause they dont have any good young talent out side of lebron...i would rather steal a future star from GSW or portland

Crash/Ammo for an expiring and a 29th pick? Yeesh.

The only FAs of major note in 2009 are Kobe (we're sure to get him!), Varejao, AI, O'Neal & Boozer.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/stor ... ents-09-10

We would have some cap; assuming we have something equal to Felton's QO it'd be somewhere around 45...so definitely room to get any of those guys. Boozer is obviously the most attractive option, but we all know the rumors of how he wants to play in Miami, and they're going to have cap space as well. AI & O'Neal...not worth it. We could always do quality for quantity, but I'm not a fan of that at all. Besides the obvious, it'd also take away from the whole point of getting that space.

It would be ironic if we used the Cavs to get capspace so we could then turn around and steal Varejao from them.

Crash/Ammo for Varejao/29th pick + we'd still have 4 million in capspace?

Swap out Ammo for Nazr and I might could stomach it. Varejao is not going to come cheap and I think Crash impacts the game much more. This would also move Boris to the 3 which I don't want to do either.

a trade like this would signal complete rebuilding mode imo. while, i'm not sure i could blame the FO if they decided to blow it up and go a different direction, as a season ticker holder, i think i'd have to take a few years off until it was clear what the team was up to.

I don't believe it. Check this on from ESPN Insider:

Risky Move?
Cavs coach Mike Brown said Thursday the team isn't even thinking about making a move right now because of the on-and-off court chemistry they've developed.
He said making any sort of trade now would involve a lot of risk.

"Any time you have a team that is playing well, whether you have chemistry and whether you don't, it's is risky to break it up," Brown said. "We do have pretty good chemistry. And we have pretty good chemistry. That is something I don't even think about doing right now." -- The Plain Dealer

That was in direct response to some idiot in Miami suggesting that we were considering trading Anderson Varejao and Wally Szczerbiak for Shawn Marion.

Anderson Varejao will not be traded... not for Wallace or anyone else.... Unless you want to send OE...then we may do that... and I am not sure that we would (although OE is more talented).

None the less, Munch, on 850AM said that Charlotte wanted JJ Hickson and Wally for Wallace and filler, and the Cavaliers declined. So, I doubt the Cavaliers will do anything with Charlotte.

peace out.

JJ Hickson. He is a 6'9 PF with a 7'9 wingspan.... The Cavaliers wont trade him for anyone.

He has been averaging CRAZY numbers in the few minutes he gets to burn. He blocked 4 shots in 9 minutes in the 2nd half vs Houston.
