I know with me it blind hope inspired homerism. I try to justify the proposals from the other side's perspective as rarely as possible.

Well in the spirit of valentine's day I will play along instead of well you know

The only way the trade would work would be to give up Felton and May's expiring along with Alexa and Raja Bell to a third team and the third team give the Nets a young player or draft pick or expiring contract.

If they did do it we would be a force to be wrecken with espially since we would keep Wallace because he doesn't make sence in a deal.

It would be a great day in Bobcat world as the Bobcats have never had a player of that caliber in franchise history.

When you have a chance to get a #1 option, you take that chance. VC would benefit from the players around him in the starting lineup and from LB's coaching style.

As for Walt's sugggetions, that would mean benching either Raja, VC, or Wallace. All 3 would really not want to come off the bench. But yeah, if we can get him for those (although I think we really should keep Diaw) then go ahead.

Pistons took that chance this season - we all know what happened.

It's no longer valentines day so back to reality. The Nets and Bobcats are competeting against each other for a playoff spot. The Nets arern't gonna give us Vince Carter so we can blow right past them.
It;s stupid but I think the guy who made the post knew that because he said "Don't Kill Me But"

Nets fan (coming in peace), who just wanted to chime in on a couple things that have been mentioned in this thread.

The talk about Carter's contract is greatly overblown IMO. On the surface it looks huge, but an important note to keep in mind is that the 2011/12 season is a team option with a $4 million buyout. The idea that he has $52.5 million left on his contract after this season is false. In reality, he has about $37 million left after this season. I'm not going to say he's dirt cheap, but the idea his deal is an albatross is an unfair one.

As for an actual trade package, honestly unless Wallace is involved, I can't see a fit. Maybe I'm underestimating what a third team will give up for Felton, but none of the tradable young assets (ie: everyone but Augustin), seem likely to have enough value to make it worthwhile for NJ. That would have to ring especially true if 10/11 contracts like Nazr are among the filler. Again, maybe Felton can be flipped elsewhere to give NJ what they truly want/need, but right now I'm skeptical of that.

I'm sure the Nets would have no issues trading Vince to Charlotte. They may be competing for the last playoff spot, but let's be honest, if making the playoffs this year was the main goal, Vince wouldn't be dealt.

I believe he still would. Well it's true making the playoffs isnt the big pic or RJ would be there, I think they know ultimately they won't win with Harris and Vince and by the time Lopez is in the allstar game VC will be to old
hE IS 32. got to trade him now if your not contending for anything.

:-? :argue: We all are speculating alot whats going on in Higgins office. There is only hours left before trade deadline.. The 15th slot needs to be filled even if its a Dleaguer2 or 3 to cover Wallace and Raja if they are reinjuried last 30 games.. But there could be more going on.?
Does anybody out there have any "leaked rumors" out of Bobcats organization? I've heard that Dallas and Portland are still real interested in Felton and are waiting until right before the deadline to make
final offer? Has anybody else heard this or maybe even another scenario?
