Lineup

Post#1 » by ccbballin » Sat Feb 28, 2009 5:28 pm

PG-Felton SG-Wallace SF-Vladimir PF - Diaw C - Okafor

I like the starting lineup but I wish these were the starters. I think Vlad needs more minutes and Raja hasn't been that impressive lately. Don't think I've ever seen this group on the floor togethor.

From the game thread:

Just like Crash he does other things. He also plays pretty respectable D on some of the harder covers in the league.

I'm liking the rotation just fine as is.

Vladimir is better coming off the bench. Why would you want Wallace lining up as a SG?

So

I agree with spectre, the line-up is fine. it's solid and trust worthy.

Having Radman check in off the bench has been a huge advantage for us and given us depth that we have been seriously lacking. I wouldn't want to negate that.

I'd LOVE Raja coming off the bench for even more added depth, but only if we some how acquire an actual SG who is better than him either via trade, FA signing or by the draft over the summer - not by playing Crash out of position there.

Theoretically Crash could play SG against most teams, but none of the coaches he has had have done it at all. I think the best thing Crash does of all the good things he does is help defense. He is actually not a great 1-on-1 defender. But he is world class when it comes to switching and helping out. I think when he is guarding SF's he has more of a chance to do that than against SG's.

Radman is doing very well because he is not starting. He should be playing against the reserves. Bell needs to play against the starters because he is our best defender and can lock down the other teams best wing player and in this day and age everyteam has a allstar sg/sf.
Plus on top of that Wallace can't shoot so he shouldn't be starting at the 2. If he could shoot I would still say Raja starts but it would make some sence.
Radman also spreads the floor with DJ out there.
Radman has been playing very well as a Bobcat but I am not sure he is better then Bell.

Bigslam you would love Raja off the bench? That doesnt make any sence because his value is his defense and if he is going against the reserves he's not shutting down the other teams best players he is stopping a reserve. A total waste of what he does. Why have him on Sasha when he can guard Kobe? Does it make more sence for him to guard Tony Allen or Ray Allen?

whether raja is starting or not... he would still be in the game in the 4th quarter if we needed stops

but if we could find a younger, all around sg, ideally raja would be great coming off the bench with the second unit.
