We had a foul to burn at the other end - why not foul and force them to inbound the ball again? Instead, Artest hits a jumper.

We had time outs in hand, why not call a time out, settle the guys and draw up a play rather than leave Raja to force up a J?

Two really confusing decisions by LB IMO.

How much you want to bet if it were Felton that missed either of those, that's all you'd be talking about? Spare me you're "we just lost a tough one" garbage that never seems to show up when its Ray that misses the end of game shot. Why is it when Ray misses an end of game shot you don't break out the "99% of fans are bummed that we just lost a game we could of won" cr*p? I know why....double standard.

I'm not saying Ray had a good game, far from it. Not good at all. I am just saying that if you're going to give a pass to Raja and Rad (Raja's shot was aactually a good shot, just way way way too early) why doesn't Ray get it. Hey, as long as they try hard, right?

That's not my point. If the collective is going to be critical of the guy that ends up taking the last shot (typically by coaches design) where is the consistency in criticism?

Just further proves that with the game on the line, Felton needs the ball in his hands.

Catching up over the game thread.

Sounds like I should be glad I missed this one.

FWIW, I didn't seem to read very many posts that mentioned Felton at all until FFP brought him up. People (Rich maybe and someone else?) mentioned that they'd love to be able to combine all of the positives of DJ and Felton into one point guard, but all I can remember off the top of my head and I just spent the past 5 mins or so catching up, so...yea....

To be clear, I didn't bring up Felton as much as wonder why people weren't knocking Raja and/or Rad. The Felton part was merely for comparison.

GOOD GOD! FELTON AND BELL COMBINED TO TAKE 37 SHOTS!?

Did Houston just zone us heavily?

Negative. WAY too many shots within the first 10 seconds of the possession. They were (generally) good looks just too fast and didn't go down.

They gave up on going inside to Okafor and others. It was either an offensive foul, missed layup, or turnover so they resorted to jumpers. Ball movement wasn't good at times and Houston does a good job at cutting through screens and keeping hands in your face. Much like SA, that is a quality defensive team.

That being said, we missed a TON of wide open shots and layups. I think Felton went 0-7 in the 2nd half and that included one or two of those floaters he usually makes and a wide open layup after he blew by the D. Okafor missed a bunch of shots because instead of going up strong into the D, he fumbled back and slapped the ball up at the rim.

Yet we STILL had a chance to win the game, but when Battier hit that crazy falling back right before the shot clock 3 and then Yao hit a fricking three, I figured it would be tough to come back from 6 down with 3 mins left.

They weren't horrible shots. We seemed to miss a LOT from the corners tonight.

Watching Raja and Felts take 37 shots than have to keep watching EO50 totally intimidated by Yao.

Not to mention Yao missed what, one shot? The only way we stopped him is if we poked the ball away before he managed to get up a shot.

On a side note, THE BUCKS ARE ABOUT TO LOSE!!!

We could've soley owned 8th place if we won tonight. Tomorrow is another opportunity...

When it happend, I checked.

That was his second three point make of his career.

And for those who like to take a stroll down memory lane: Dwight Howard has hit one three point shot in his career. Bet you can't guess who it was against?

Just got back.

Why we lost:

Bell missed 10 consecutive wide open shots in the 3rd quarter. Just terrible.

Felton missed 4 or 5 layups that rimmed in and out, most of them were hard shots, but if just one of those falls, its a different game.

Yao gets lucky and hits a 3 at the buzzer. If that doesn't happen, we win.

Okafor is a freakin nightmare in the post on offense. Just go up and dunk. Probably the reason why we took so many jumpers, the team was fed up with him missing 1 ft shots under the rim when all he has to do is dunk.

Awful turnovers by DJ and Wallace.

Diaw needs to take more control of the game when he is in.

All in all, I am very pissed because we played poorly but still could have won if the stars don't align in place for Houston or we make 1 or 2 wide open jumpers in that garbage 3rd quarter.

Bobcats will never win anything with stats like that (it's actually amazing that the score was this close) :

Raja Bell 6-18
Raymond Felton 6-19
Emeka Okafor 3-11
Boris Diaw 4-6

won't ever happen.
Boris has to be more involve whether it's his fault or others fault (players and coach), I don't know, I didn't watch the game but that's a fact.
When he's involved and the ball goes through him, the offense actually flows like it's supposed to which means better percentages and more team assists and huge match up problems for the opposing team.
This game was winnable, too bad :-(

DJ shot 2 for 4 with only 1 TO. Not sure why you want to single out 1 TO as "awful". 1 is 1 too many, but not "awful". But everything else you said I pretty much agree with.

fat's notes from the rafters

this was the first game in over a month that i sat in my seats. the last 2 games i went to were upgrades, and of course we had AS weekend and the long road trip. it was nice to be back home.

got to the game right at tip-off, which of course meant i had to kick some moron out of my seats. rant#1 - seriously, i sit in the f'ing nosebleeds. my seats are 5 dollars a piece. why must you insist in seating in my seats when there are 40 empty one in the section? its not like my seats come with a free happy ending. i swear, if i dont get to the game 20 mins early, its guaranteed some fat slob from somewhere east of raleigh will be sitting in my seats.

once the game started we quickly realized there was something wrong with my section. usually its half empty with a few regulars here and there. yes, the entire section is sold out for every game by season ticker holders, due to the 5 dollar deal, but those people rarely show up. but tonight, we were surrounded by 100s of screaming 5 year olds. rant#2 so apparently the parents of the kids who did the "jump rope thingy" at half time, brought every 5 year old in stanley county to my section. how did they manage to get tix in a section that is sold out with all season tix holders, i have no idea. so there are 7 five year olds in front of me, 3 to my left, 6 behind me....and, count it, 2, yes, 2 adults. to recap, that's 14 five year olds and 2 adults. blake, as the one deadbeat adult called him, decided he wanted to crawl around the floor under my looking for peanut shells that the fat slob i kicked out of my seats left. the little blonde girl to my left crossed in front of me to go visit her friends in the next section over no less than 18 times in the second half alone. (is it illegal to punch a five-year old in the throat, if you have just cause?") and the other lone dead beat adult decided to stand in front of us, with her back to the game, talking to 7 kids in front of me.... ALL NIGHT LONG. i dont usually drink at the games, but last night, i got tanked. it was the only way i could make it through the night without getting arrested.

rant#3 they were selling felton jerseys for $15 dollars last night. thats only $5 more than they are selling the morrison jerseys. that's a bad sign.

rant#4 what the hell happened to that promising young rookie that we saw in the first half of the season? maybe we need to send dj down to the d-league for a while. he sucks right now.

rant#5 i am sick of watching this team shrivel anytime we face a bigger physical team. note for all opposing scouts out there... play of tough, be physical, push okafor around, knock wallace on his ass and you'll win the game 75% of the time. i dont think we are ready for playoff basketball, based on what i've seen they past 2 games. i'm not mad that we lost, i'm just mad that we keep letting physical teams like the spurs and rockets push us around. that cant happen if we want to be a playoff team.
