Typical Australian stereotypes about French people??!!! :D
Anyway, he will play for the France national team since he's been taken of the NBA Black List so he should start next season in shape (I don't think he will be given croissants over there)!

I drink Fosters and ride Kangaroos so I assumed all French people drank wine and ate cheese and bread over the summer!!

;)

I just keep getting flash backs of all the reports he went back to the Suns after signing his big deal and having a great season very out of shape and lacking focus.

I just hope he doesn't become complacent again after having a good season since joining us. He is vital to what we do next season and I want him in the best shape of his life. I loved that all our guys were in working out together last summer. We need more of that this summer, and we need Boris leading the charge.

I wouldn't worry too much, LB is no D'antoni.

A plus for us is that it appears LB is going to be with him in France. Hopefully that'll reign in his indulging somewhat.

If we can get these guys to focus like they did last summer then it's hard not to be very optimistic about next season.

Diaw is my favorite player on the team, and maybe the NBA. I like versatile players and he fits that bill about as well as anyone in the NBA. How many PFs were PGs as rookies? Even though he wasn't a success at PG, that he was considered there is a credit to his versatility. Guys who put up a lot of points are popular but here is a guy who puts up every stat imaginable, impacts the game all over the court, and improves the play of his teammates. And I haven't seen many that can finish in the paint like he can. Boris Diaw is a rare talent, I hope he is a part of the foundation of this team for a long time. Besides the superstars level talents, I am not sure there are many players I would prefer over Diaw.

Walt was saying in another thread that Boris is a franchise type player. I don't disagree. In fact, I'll take it a step further.

I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and he reminds me a LOT of Tim Duncan, minus a couple of inches and the rebounding. They both play at that pace that seems sloth like but is actually very calculated and quick. They both have a great understanding of angles, their bodies and how they move. They both aren't very emotive. They are both clever with the way they can pass the ball. They are both very long. They both have wonderful post moves and range on their J's.

They both suck at the FT line ;)

Does anyone else see what I see?

Yep BigSlam,
I definitely see what you see, sir !

I think Boris is a great fondation to start any team.
His talent is also very valuable in the playoffs where he steps up his game, his flawless technique do wonders with even the toughest defense (The Spurs are so glad not to meet him, so are the Mavs).

I'm a little worried about what's going on right now with Boris not getting as much touches as he was not so long ago, maybe he is a little tired... But I hope the focus of the team doesn't shift from giving him the ball and trusting him to make the majority of the decisions out there on the court.
