I was just thinking about E-Rob the other day. Has there ever been a pivotal sixth man like E-Rob sign somewhere else and be a complete failure as a starter as much as E-Rob did? Teams were jealous we had him off the bench. Then he signs with Chicago and he sucks and is injured his entire contract.

I have a love hate thing with Mek.

He could easily average 20 and 12 with 3 blocks. He can't hit free throws and basically gets the same stats as he did his whole career yet he is known for being a hard worker. A hard worker would have seriously improved his game.

Diaw I have a love hate thing to because 1 game he looks like a better version of Pippen and the next game he looks like an average backup plus there is no reason a guy that size playing the 4 no less gets 5 boards.

Wallace plays hard every game.
Felton is a pg and everybody knows it sometimes takes them a few years but he is always a good playmaker.

ok... speaking of eddie robinson, you guys are gonna get a kick out of this. after the hornets let e-rob walk, i was just livid. it was another free agent we let leave for nothing (24 straight), due to shinn being cheap... or bass being a genius, or both. anyway, i wrote i letter to the hornets. of course, in hind-sight not signing e-rob was a good move, but, at the time i think it was all about money and trying to get out of charlotte and not because they though e-rob wasnt worth it. he had amazing potential.

Dear Jeff,

Today was probably my last day as die hard Hornets fan. The recent debacle of the Eddie Robinson situation has broken my last heart. I can't take anymore.

I have lived in Charlotte my entire life and I am a huge Hornets fan and NBA fan. I have been to over 100 games and watched almost every telecast over the last 12 years. I have stood up for the Hornets as they let player after player walk out the door. I defended the Hornets relentlessly to co-workers and friends for what? To get continuously lied to over and over by the worst organization in the NBA.

This franchise has given up trying to win or even be competitive. No other team in the league has shown less support for their fans over the past few years. Even the lowly Clippers are now a respectable franchise. Well today was the last day I will have my heart broken by the Hornets. If you don't care then neither do I.

How can you sit their all year long and tell us that Eddie Robinson was the number one priority in the offseason when that was clearly another lie. How can you let a young player of his caliber, who wanted to be here leave without even making him an offer. I just don't understand. That is insulting to him and the city of Charlotte and what little fans you have left.

The Hornets wonder why they didn't get an arena. Well this is why. We are not going to support a team who lies and who does not care. It's that simple.

Teams are lining up for a chance to sign Baron Davis when he becomes a free agent. Why would he resign with the Hornets when they have shown no loyalty to 24 straight free agents. When Baron Davis leaves this city will cut you off completely. Forever.

You had a chance to build on a very positive postseason. This was the chance the Hornets had to show the city they were serious about winning. With an arena at stake this move was pure suicide. It almost seems like every move this franchise makes is done to piss the city off in an attempt to convince to NBA in to letting you move.

I don't know what chance the team has to make this situation right. The signing period doesn't begin until the 18th so I guess there is time for a turn of events. For your sake I hope that happens. It's time to tell Bob Bass to get back from his vacation because you guys have a lot of explaining to do. Good luck.

Thank you for breaking my heart.
Hornets fan from November 2, 1988 to July 12, 2001

Jeff Bower, the gm, wrote me back.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to express your feelings and also for your long standing support of the Hornets. As you are aware, it is not permissible for anything to be signed or finalized until next week when the moratorium on free agent signings has been concluded. We are not permitted to make comments in the newspapers concerning this issue and this does not always present the most accurate account. I would like to assure you that we are interested in winning and that is what drives our entire staff on a daily basis.

I would only hope you reserve judgment until things become official.

Respectfully,
Jeff Bower
General Manager

Wow!

That's a great story. People think that the Shinn hate started with moving the team. I think for most serious fans it also included their policy of not re-signing players ever.

And apparently old habits die hard- witness the aborted trade of Tyson Chandler to the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this year. Same ol' Cheapie. But he's not ours now. The Big Easy can stew on him!

By the way, could we get in on the Tyson Chandler give-away?

Tyson Chandler is the most overrated player in the league. He is a 12 mill plus guy and all he gives is 8 points and 8 rebounds with 2 blocks.
He has Chris Paul on his team which is really why he gets the little points he does get.
