There are a ton of successful white guys in the NBA, just none of them from the United States (other than David Lee and maybe Kirk Hinrich). Dirk, Ginobili, Nash, Calderon, Bogut...

The key evidence for Rubio is that he has been successful at a very young age against a league which is considerably better than the NCAA. I don't know if he's ever going to be a Kidd-esque HOFer and team leader, but I think he's a virtual lock to become a competent NBA starter.

Also, Augustus, Morrison actually played so badly for us that he was a negative influence, a below-replacement-level guy... while May provided very little for us (2.5 career win shares), Ammo actually provided less (-1.4). We would have been better off never playing Morrison at all and playing a random D-Leaguer in his place. Also he made a lot more money than May did (7.5m in 2 years, versus 5.2m in 3). Granted, Ammo has landed us an actual NBA player in trade, which May probably never will, so that's something in his favor.
