Give him the minimum with incentives, ie bonus for certain weight, bonus for amount of games played, and a free cheeseburger for getting 10 boards in a game.

We would be insane to offer this man ANOTHER contract. McMay is only (barely) getting on the court just before the end of this season, when it was in his power to be a contributing player long before now. May is a loafer. He reminds me of the college kid who cruises along, doing just enough to barely get by. He was hurt?? Ooooo...another reason for the baby to carry his blankee around and get excused from practice.

Too many on this board keep looking at May's skills (better known as: what he did in the past in college or a few games in the pros). Look, my uncle had a really bad a** car, an old Porche, that I've seen smoke other cars on the track and on the street. Problem is, he can never keep that car on the road. Too often it had mechanical problems, and they were TOO EXPENSIVE TO FIX. He finally sold it.

Let May go. We need the other spot for a productive player. Let him take his act to some other town's strip bars, and some other sucker team.

Fat people with even a mild amount of interest have been relatively sucessful in this league. Some names I can think of are; Oliver Miller, Stanley Roberts, Derrick Coleman, Mel Turpin, John "Hot Plate" Williams, and Ledell Eackles.

For the most part this guys didn't exactly have long sucessful careers, but they could at least put up decent numbers for a time when they played. Sean May can't even do that.

Seans problem isn't that he doesn't have the talent or the skills, its that he flat out doesn't care that much.

This franchise should move on as soon as they can.

The only players who played good fat are Barkley and Pierce.


Guys like Kemp tried to come back but was fat. Jerome James would have been decent if not fat.

Exactly, it may work in college but rarely is a chub able to be good in the nba. I wouldn't consider Pierce to be a fat guy but Barkley is the only fatty I can think of that has been really good in the NBa.

The same could be said about rail thin guys except Tayshaun Prince.

That's not true at all. Rail thin guys do fine alot of the time. Rip, Prince, KG, Miller,Clark and there is more.

As for Pierce he is fat. He is very thick and it's not muscle. He is fat bottom line.

Sean May isn't a bad basketball player, alot of people tend to forget that with the operation he had, he couldn't rehab aggressively, which, im sure, helped him gain some of the pounds.

if he can be had at a decent price, im thinking 3 year contract, with incentives, and the last year being a team option, that would get it done for me.

Bad knees and out of shape -- two reasons why I wouldn't want to re-sign him if I ran the Bobcats. If Brown thinks May can ever help the team, then MAYBE for the vet league minimum...but not for anything more than that.

Actually you know what I would do to humble him and get him in game shape. I would sign him for the vet min and put him in the Dleague. That would probably get him in shape and advance his skills as a basketball player. We know he has a big ego so this would be a gut check for him.

If he ever did live up to his potential he would be a 16 and 8 guy. I doubt he will ever do that but for the vet min why the hell not. Maybe hell be like Dampier and do his best for 1 year and that 1 year would be worth the vet min. Howard could retire next year and we have no backup 4 so put him in the Dleague.
May,Lexi and Sean could develop some chemistry to.

As the rule stands only rookies and 2nd year players can be allocated to the D-League. So he would have to go down there on his own without an NBA contract.

It wouldn't be the worst idea for him, it might even humble him a bit, but some team like the Hawks or a bad team like the Kings will sign him thinking hes worth the minor contract.

If the Bobcats sign him it should be for a 1 year contract with a 2nd year team option.
