Bobcats War Room- Ninth Pick - 2009

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Thu May 14, 2009 10:10 pm

We now have our eighth pick on the big board, with Terrence Williams being the latest to grab a spot on the board. Since I've been away for two days, (Doctor appointments again. Good results received.) I'm going to skip my monologue and go right to the polling.

Previous selections-Jordan Hill, Hasheem Thabeet, Tyreke Evans, Demar DeRozan, James Harden, Ricky Rubio, Blake Griffin. Good voting, guys. Bring home a winner!

Let me use the process of elimination-
The Bobcats choose a point guard this year for only one of two reasons. 1- They KNOW for a FACT that Felton is elsewhere next year- or 2- They KNOW for a FACT that their pick last year, D. J. Augustin was a waste of a pick and are ready to move on. I believe that reasons 1 AND 2 are false. Therefore:::::::::Sorry Mr. Jennings, Mr. Flynn, and Mr. Lawson. We won't be needing your services.

5 more to eliminate- Although we could use a good center, B. J. Mullens wasn't even the first center option at Ohio State. Is it possible he could be the next big thing? Theoretically. But it's more likely the world will end before next season begins, than B. J. Mullens will be anything more than BUST CITY. Sorry, Mr. Mullens.

Down to 4- James Johnson- Too early. See you after # 14.

Final eliminations- Messrs. Henderson, Curry, and Budinger- we have put quite a few people who play your position on the board already. And, even though two of you played locally, we are sifting through this draft pool looking for good value at the ninth pick. Tonight, you aren't the BEST value at a position of need. Maybe tomorrow night.

Leaving.......Earl Clark of Louisville (T-Will's teammate) as my selection. Second best value left on the board. Best non-PG value left....period!
Claw ON!

Congrats on the good results August, and I'm finding it real hard to argue with your logic about the PG position. For me I had three options, Clark, Hendersen or Jennings (purely to trade him to the highest bidder). I want to start filling some holes before filling out positions we are already okay in.

Welcome Mr Clark and you'll be visited by Mr Henderson with the 10th pick.

I'm skeptical of Clark, but I guess looking over my previous posts he ought to be the next guy on my big board.

I'm not keen on Clark, but I'd prefer his length and size than another rookie PG on the roster...

and I'm talking and bout height and arm length lads.... :D

If we aren't drafting Jennings because we already have two point guards why are we drafting a 3-4 hybrid, don't we already have three of those?

Jennings, btw.

Because we aren't totally married to any one of those outside of Crash!

And seeing that time has expired, Earl Clark is our # 9 pick on the Big Board. Thank you, voters. I'll log this on the tally sheet and we'll go straight to the 10th pick. Since I have been out so much during the week, this will be a working weekend- with a 2 day voting period for those who are "occupied" with weekend things. Maybe we find some new voters?!?! Hope so.
