Bobcats War Room- Pick Fifteen - 2009

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Mon May 25, 2009 1:56 am

Time again to complete the upper half of our first round big board. We have concluded our lottery picks:
Blake Griffin
Ricky Rubio
James Harden
Demar DeRozan
Tyreke Evans
Hasheem Thabeet
Jordan Hill
Terrence Williams
Earl Clark
Stephen Curry
Brandon Jennings
Gerald Henderson
DeJuan Blair
and our recent victor, Jrue Holliday, PG, UCLA, in a very fragmented, but clear victory with 4 votes.

This time, we need to find a new constituency for our next man on the board- the one you will select at pick 15. As we currently pick at position 12, we will have to make a trade with Detroit to draft in this spot. But in the trades/transactions forum, there is some interest from the Detroit side in making such a deal. So lets be ready if that were to come about!

Now I have no illusions that the talent/value ratio is going down. We honestly need a star on this team, and the gems that are left are those of the hidden variety. So, lets get what we are used to at 15, the best player that plugs a hole that we have now. Larry Brown won one championship with a parts list. It takes the right parts. I don't really care about the name we select, as much as the work ethic. I do want the hardest working guy who does his best shooting in the fourth quarter, a rebounding fool who cleans the opposite side of the glass from Okafor, and someone who understands the game like a coach's son who eventually wants to coach after retiring from the game. I know that's a tall order, but really, every one of us want the same thing. We just don't agree on the name.....just yet!

Do your research, and put the best name forward. For the TEAM!

We are thin at the SF spot and I like the size and all around game that Johnson brings so I went with him.

Things are starting to get murky though!!

Whoever voted for Mullens, please identify yourself. :droop: :eek2: :vent:

I went Johnson as well. And I agree, Slam, this is murk to the second power. The point guards might actually start looking good to me. I know we don't need any, but we sure have a lot of em left on the menu.

I voted Flynn just because I think he's the BPA at this pick.

Chase Budinger but I won't complain if we trade the pick to Detroit, Memphis or Oklahoma City to dump a contract. Are we going to draft a PG and let Felton Walk?

With just a few minutes left, it looks like James Johnson of Wake Forest will be the 15th name inscribed on our 2009 Big Board. However, there was once a presidential election in which Harry Truman went to bed a landslide loser and woke up re-elected.

Time's up. JJ's on the board at 15!
