Bobcats War Room - Grand Finale - 2009

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Tue Jun 23, 2009 11:17 pm

Well, we have reached the end of the selection process. Pick # 30. Time to look ahead to the Draft on Thursday night. But wait! We still have to put that 30th pick up there!

You guys about killed me with that last vote. Two votes for three people, and three for our 29th pick, Omri Casspi of Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel. From what I hear, he would bring a hard-nosed edge with him if HE came to Charlotte. You never know. This guy could be very solid.

Are YOU ready to vote? I am. And I'll miss it until next spring. I want to thank all of you who have voted, and hope we can do it again next year. We'll see! On to the voting!

I'm looking to the second round with this one. We need a power forward. And there's only one on the list, Josh Heytvelt. I voted for him last night. There's another one I have my eye on, and I really hope we have a shot at him with # 40. I'm talking about the teammate of our # 3 pick, James Harden...

Jeff Pendergraph.

When Harden was having his troubles during the NCAAs, Pendergraph kept ASU in the tournament as long as he could. Played Center, but projects as a Power Forward. Good shooting touch, too! I don't expect him to win this vote, but just remember him as we approach pick 40 on Thursday night.

Claw on, Bobcats Nation!

Wait, I was ready to start voting for Collison once we would vote for second round (non-guaranteed contracts). Oh.

Rodrique Beaubois....

I've been voting for Taylor, but I'm going to change to Beaubois. Mostly because I'd like to say I called it in case he blows up. The guys is supremely athletic and talented, but completely untested.

Beaubois is from Guadeloupe, a small island in the Caribbean, they are an "over-seas department" of France but not France proper. They speak French, they spend Euro's etc.

To be honest, that is what led me to take an interest in him. My sister lived in Guadeloupe for a while and when I saw he was from there it caught my eye.

I imagine he can play for the French national team in any case. Thierry Henry, William Gallas and I believe Louis Saha were all eligible for the Guadeloupe Soccer team (I think, need to check) before playing for France.

It would be cool to have a fourth French speaker on the team. I wonder if any of our French posters know anything about him.

And we close our voting with the 30th and final first round selection- Patty Mills of St. Mary's University. So, now that we have our 30, let's see how it will play out tomorrow night.

How many of the 30 did we pick right? Does somebody do something so out of character that we will be discussing it for years? Will Stephen A. Smith shoot his mouth off again? Do we draft at 12 or trade out because our four or five guys we wanted got taken earlier? And then, there are the trades! Will we pick up an Azubuike or a Dalembert? Or someone else? Do we trade Ajinca, or Diop, or Nazi? Or will we rid ourselves of another member of our core?

I implore the Bobcats front office- Don't hurt us! Claw on Bobcats! Claw on Bobcats fans!

Actually Guadeloupe is entirely part of France, except that it's quite far away from the Metropolitan France, so he is perfectly able to play for the French national team. Pietrus comes from Guadeloupe too btw.

I don't follow the French championship much, so I don't know much about Beaubois, but I think he is definitely not NBA ready from what I've seen and read. My father follows the championship a lot more than I do, so I'll ask him if he knows anything about him.
