I think that is the most extreme example you can use. Dwight Howard? He is one of the biggest guys ever. His shoulders are the size of me. He came in from h.s. and was 7 feet tall so was skinny and the whole point was to bulk up and he happened to bulk up to be the strongest guy in the league besides maybe Shaq depending.

Like I said the only thing you add is muscle. The hoops are the same. Look at Kobe his rookie year which is who we should be looking at because there guards not C's, he was super athletic and fast and could jump super high. It went down as the years went on but his strength got better. Think about it.

Answer this, how old are you and I don't mean to diss i just need a point of reference.

So, if by chance, Henderson is more athletic than DeRozan right now, he won't be a couple of years from now.

Exactly thruthefire. You lose athleticism when you get older. But to say Henderson is and will always be more athletic than DeRozan because he's older and has the same athletic ability as him is crazy. You don't lose athleticism at this age like you said.

But in my opinion I think DeRozan is more athletic than Henderson now.

I'm about to be 18, and that's exactly my point. I haven't hit my physical peak yet, and neither has DeRozan. I just find it hard to believe that barring injury, or lack of a work ethic, that a 21 to 23-year-old DeRozan won't be more athletic than a 19-year-old Derozan. Henderson should improve some too, but at his age, I agree, he's mostly just going to add strength. Regardless, I don't think either will lose any athleticism any time soon.

Dwight Howard may be an extreme example, and we're not talking about centers, but then again, you're comparing guys in there early 20's, or even teen's, to what they are now in their 30's.

My only point is two to three years from now, there will be little discussion on who the superior athlete is between DeRozan and Henderson. Maybe even by the start of the 2010-2011 season.
Humble yourself.

18. You are basically at your peak except for raw man power but that is close. The arm power gets a little better but that's it. 18-21 is the most athletic and at 25 it is a scientific fact your matbalosim slows down and you lose strength and you just decline. You start falling apart. It's cruel and damm i envy you. You will unfortanately see exactly what I mean. When I was in high school I could play basketball for 48 hours straight. Now I have an orthapedic specialist and physical therapy once a week.

I think Henderson will be a nice pro, but I would have gone with Holliday. The need for a real scoring guard is just too big to pass on Jrue.

The only thing is he has the saem colour of voice as Tyson Apostol from Survivor: Tocantins. It took me a while to get used to hear this voice from an actually likeable person:)

*big grin* and initial thought of others was "Wow, Steven Segal" :) The whole casting of that season was unique, not necessarily the best, but surely one of a kind.

I wasn't a fan of the latest season. And I'm a Survivor junkie.

I'll give you the fact that he doesn't have a broke shot like DeRozan but Henderson is definitely not as athletic as DeRozan. DeRozan is a freak. But that's not to say Henderson isn't athletic as well all know he is.

Just reading this thread to get an idea of how Henderson was doing, and stumbled across this.

Derozan doesn't have a broke shot. He has great form, and is one of the better midrange shooters in the draft. He shot 52% in college, and 50% in SL, with a ton of jumpers in there.

I'm guessing you are basing it off 3pt stats. But it would be like saying Rip Hamilton had a broke jumper back when he didn't shoot many 3's.

I totally agree. DeRozan has very nice form on his J. Great lift, stays very straight, good release. He has no real range and has trouble creating for himself, but he does have really, really nice form (like Travis Outlaw)

I've been told my jumper has good form too :D doesn't help much.

Tyreke is a better shooter than DeRozan and his form is all kinds of wrong

It really sounds like you just havn't watched his games, and are basing things off box scores. W/e it is you're simply wrong.

At USC he scored @ 56% on 2 point shots, and a ton of them were mid range jumpers. He's 4th out of guards shooting pulls ups J's in efficeincy. 4th out of guards on iso's. and 6th in catch and shoot situations.

This whole game is fairly representative of how he scored his ponits at USC. Lots of midrange jumpers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGYFmtQn ... re=related

Questioning his explosivness off the bounce or something I'd agree with you. But his form , and Jumper? Naw it's pretty damn good for a 19y/o, and better then Evans. Of couse he still needs to improve certain areas of it, like range, but what 19yo doesnt?.

Yeah Derozan's jumper definitely isn't broken. He's got a super high release that will remind everyone here of Ammo who is a distant memory. Once he adds some range he'll start to contribute. Henderson's going to be sick once he learns what he can and can't do in the nba.
