I absolutely disagree. If I was his owner I would be seriously ticked off after he literally stole MILLIONS of dollars from me. After May signed that contract he had an obligation to play to the best of his abilities and BE IN SHAPE. That's it. Those were the only 2 things he needed to focus on. He failed at both...miserably.
Now it might be somewhat different if May was a #1 pick and we had a lot invested in him, or if he was a veteran with at least some credibility AND a productive resume, but May had none of that. So now you want Bob Johnson to forget that and reach into his pocket and pay this chump another 1.5 million? Are you serious?!? Rewarding irresponsible behavior, you consider that a "good move?"
