McCants is as legit a 20 point nba scorer as they come. He's an absolute scoring machine who can fill it up while shooting a high %.

The issue is not his skill set or athleticism - both of which are superb, but rather his bloated ego and arrogance. Take a cursory look at McCants' web site: he fashions himself as a GQ thug.

If he was more coachable and didnt have such a high opinion of himself, he'd probably be inking a large, multi year contract right now instead of struggling for an invite to someone's training camp.

The only hope for his career is that he gets humbled by the league wide lack of interest in him this offseason...but I wouldnt count on it.

I don't know where you get the notion that McCants has the skill or athleticism to avg 20 points...I've never seen either from him. I mean..he's adequate but he isn't an especially explosive athlete. The part about being skilled or efficient is just laughable...

I can't fathom having McCant's here. He is as narcissistic as they come. Check out his interview with the Raleigh News, carried on the Observer's Bobcat's section on their website. EVERYTHING is about him. The WORLD revolves around him. He rationalizes everything he has ever done or will do. If you were worried about Iverson, who's at least had the benefit of age and somw wisdom to give him a "chance" to be a better man, how can you even THINK about McCants??
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Could be based on the season that he averaged 15 ppg in 27 minutes -- which wasn't too long ago. Over 45 percent from the field and over 40 percent from three is very efficient. I'd say he's definitely not lacking in athleticism or skill. Yeah, he's a bit on the short end for a two guard, but he makes up for it with his ridiculous wingspan.

If he gets his head on straight, he could be Ben Gordon-esque.

*Waits for someone to say Raja Bell is a better basketball player than Ben Gordon* Now that would be laughable.

I actually like Ben Gordon. :o But seriously, McCants isn't even Ben Gordons little brother. Wake me up when McCants drains clutch shots all season long like Gordon has done in his career.

And who gives a crap about ridiculous wingspan for a two guard when you're always 10 steps behind your man on defense?? It's not like he's crashing the boards too. Which he doesn't do...with that "ridiculous wingspan."

Man you sure do have a strange fetish for crappy basketball players. I'm waiting with bated breath to see what "stud" you pull out of your hat next.

Richardson and Okafor are crappy basketball players, but Chandler and Bell are Gods.

Until you stop judging the Bobcats threw your LB homeriffic frames, I can't save you. Sorry.

Sorry, but I trust Larry Browns 30 year track record of being able to judge what players can help a team WIN GAMES over your measly negative record.

Says a lot about a guy who got pissed about not bringing McMay back......

For the record, BOTH of you are homers. There's not necessarily anything wrong with that. You like your certain players for certain reasons, he does the same. But what you both need to realize is that you BOTH cheer for the 'Cats.

Stop being childish and agree to disagree. It's getting ridiculous seeing y'all throwing pot shots back and forth at each other.

Well, I never said I was pissed, just that it was a mistake. Considering we still don't have a backup power forward, and May's back in 2006-2007 form (at least shape wise), I think it would make more than enough sense to bring him back on the veteran's minimum.

As for being a homer, I still throw pot shots at Chandler, since Battery throws them at Okafor. I don't think I have to be a homer to say Emeka Okafor and Jason Richardson are better players than Tyson Chandler and Raja Bell, though, because it's simply true.
