He's one of those guys that gives you relatively the same production regardless of the system. That's definitely a plus. Even in a fast-paced system, he's shown he can play some lock down defense. I wouldn't expect our starting small forward to able to do the job he did on Nowitzki.
All things considered, Gerald's probably the better overall defender, since he's a much better rebounder and racks up on steals and blocks, but seeing him get lit up from deep is getting really old. Seriously, just because you can't shoot, doesn't mean the player you're guarding can't shoot. Learn what a proper defensive stance is and how to play perimeter defense.
