We actually have a really good backup SG now, so I doubt we see Felton there anyone which means DJ should be getting only backup PG minutes. Last year he avged 26.5 mpg but I don't see how he could get much more than 20 this season. I don't see splitting your PG time 50/50 as being a positive thing, you need to be steady at that position for a good 36 minutes if you want consistency on the court.

I agree with you totally, up until the last sentence. It can definitely work, take a look at the Raptors when they had Ford and Calderon, they had two seasons of good offense with those two splitting time running the show. Granted Ford's ego got in the way, but it can definitely work, and sometimes splitting up that pair can be harmful (as shown by last season).

Of course, neither of our PGs are great right now, but if our situation in summer 2010 looks like the Raptors' in 2008 (minus the drama from TJ) then I think we should just be happy about it and try to keep both.

We could feasibly do that as long as DJ is on a rookie scale, but if the cap drops like they're saying I doubt we can afford the luxury. We also still have holes with very few assets to fill them with (losing the pick is going to hurt in that regard).

My bet is Felton ends up taking the Okafor path in the end assuming DJ keeps progressing...meaning he'll probably be a Bobcat for the next two seasons. I think that's around the time that DJ will be looking for his first nice contract.

But for now I'm very happy with having both of them. Solid depth at the 1 for around 8 million is awesome.

Awards are nice, but the best award for now is the post season.

Yeah i agree with what you guys are saying about DJ's minutes. Now that we've got Flip Murray it'll probably effect Augustin's minutes. Hopefully he'll still get the same amount of minutes he did last year, even better if he got more.

Idk if splitting the PG's minutes 50/50 would be positive or negative. It would be interesting none the less.

i think you guys will be better this year. chandler isnt that much of a drop off offensively from oakafor. dj will be better. henderson should contribute, and its the 2nd year under larry brown.
