Stephen Jackson... average efficiency for above-average (but unspectacular) volume... which is expected, given team pace. Overrated as a ball-handler, and had a monstrous turnover rate while producing that career-high APG average. Good defender. Not too bright, not a great locker room guy. Having said what I did about his APG, he improved his AST% by 10% and only increased his TOV% by 4%, so he's overrated, but not wildly so. And he's a SG/SF based on his height, strength and defensive history.

The pace stuff is a wee bit overrated, too, because he was only taking about 15 shots a game. The thing that'd probably go down is his FTA/FGA, which was solid last year (.357 or so, decent but unspectacular for a wing).

Compared to Jason Richardson and Raja Bell, his would-be predecessors, though, I think Jax is probably a worthwhile medium-risk, medium-reward type proposition. Not a bad deal, all told.

I'd love to him as I think he is the type of player we could use right now, however, he will be 34 years old making 10 million dollars in the last year of his deal. Also, this is the end of the line for him because of his behavior, if he acts crazy in Charlotte which given his history is a strong possibility, then nobody will want him. So we just killed our cap situation and we're no better as a team because of Mr. Crazy. Love him if he only had max 2 years left on his deal.

Jackson in Charlotte scares me.

I just don't think this would be a good situation for him. He has already stated he wants to go to a winning team, which we only might be. Also with our lack of "stars" I could see Jack coming here and calling himself the star player, totally messing up team chemistry. I can already imagine him blaming his teammates if we didn't have a winning year with him here.

I think his craziness is too big a risk for him to come here. He would be better off at a place where there is a defined "star" leader and he knows he has to tow the line. ie like when he was in San Antonio.
