Why? People seem to think Brand is awful, but he's still better than anyone of those guys. Plus, with Brand, there's always the hope that he can go back to being a 18-20 point scorer and a 9-10 rebounds per game player. He obviously doesn't fit in with Philly's offense, but he would fit in great here. Personnel wise and system wise. We run a halfcourt offense, which he excels in, and we have some terrible offensive players, so he could be the #1 option. There's really no hope for Diop, Radman, or Mohammed getting better. Mohammed's playing very well right now in the minutes he's getting, but that's still a contract we want to get rid of. Everyone complains about Vlad eating up Brown's minutes, and we're all in agreement that Diop is awful, so why turn down this trade?

The only reason I could see Philly making this trade is to get shorter contracts (Radman and Mohammed) and to get Speights in the starting lineup. Diop would probably be the killer, but I'm fine with including Ajinca's sorry ass.

67 million reasons, compounded with the fact that he's not played like a player who deserves that money after his injury. Way too big a gamble.

Hope?? The problem is not so much in taking a chance on Brand improving, it has to do with leaving yourself with an exit strategy should things not pan out. There is none here. If Brand does not improve, we're up sh*t creek without a paddle. Sort of like the way Philly is right now because that contract is an albatross. If you owned the Bobcats you would never approve such a move. Taking on Brand at this point in his career with that contract is franchise suicide. Why would we want to help Philly? We're competing with them and Brand's contract kills them for the next 4 years.

Radman and Nazr will both be expiring contracts next summer so they can be considered assets. Diop shouldn't even be in the NBA, but we're not playing him and he makes nowhere near the amount Brand does. Plus he's a 7 footer so we might be able to package him in a trade next summer. If not, we hang onto him and then buy his lame ass out the following summer to clear up the roster spot.

I would that if se got 3 Diops on our roster (and each of them would have his own current contract) and we could deal all of those for Brand. I wuld do it for two and a half two.

Watch the video ( of him punching Primo), watch the body language, everything. He could be a malcontent regardless his contract.

The fact that hes better then those 3 is enough to make you think this is a good idea? There are so many players better then those 3 that i still wouldn't take.

Paid like a superstar, plays like a role player. NO thanks.

Given our management's track record I almost think their best move is not to make any moves. They should just make a statute of picture of Diop, Ajinca, Morrison, May, Agustin, and Richardson and Felton (hell just every player thats ever been on the team) to remind them their intuition and judgement are the greatest danger to the team.

Partly, not entirely. You would only get this impression if you stopped reading my post after the first line.
