No, this idea its "hindsight" needs to stop. Everyone except Bobcats management and apparently yourself thought the Augustin pick was ridiculous. When you know it was stupid at the time its called "sight" not "hindsight".

I started this awhile back but haven't finished it but I went through every single personnel transaction the Bobcats have made since and including the pre-expansion draft moves and while hindsight can be criticized it is reasonable to expect that competent basketball managers to get the significant personnel transactions right at least 50% of the time. With the Bobcats, you're looking more at 25%. The word you need to be focused on is not "hindsight", its "incompetence".

It can get annoying I guess, especially if the phrasing is in an "I told you so" fashion.

Yeah I suppose I come off like that. I guess my intended audience is really Bobcats management when I talk about most personnel decisions and not the people on this board.

I disagree with a lot (honestly...most everything  ) that you post, but that right there is spot on. I'd even argue 25% is being generous.

But I don't go back in trime. The thing to do to fix it is reverse the tide for now and in the future. Taking on another big deal in Brand wouldn't be that IMO. I'm kind of worried that it could be a possibility however.

Yes... our franchise is awful and we have made soooo many awful mistakes. You're preaching to the choir, you just do it in an annoying and abrasive way. To comment on the other post... a lot of people didn't want to take Lopez because we thought Okafor and Lopez wouldn't be able to play on the floor together.

Last night I looked over the consensus exercise we did for that draft and I wanted Beasley, Rose, Griffin (x2, Mayo won the first time), Randolph, Bayless and DJ. I would've been fine with Love or Lopez, but I didn't actively WANT them like the others. I was scared of Love's knee issue and with Lopez I wrote "Also, just to clarify... I've liked what I've seen out of Brook Lopez, but if I'm picking 3rd, I'm scared of him too." Lopez was a Yinka Dare rule candidate (of players listed 7 foot and at least 250 lbs selected between 4 and 15 during the lottery era, only Kaman, Bynum, Mutombo and Dampier have been success stories). The argument that is bigs in that range are selected by teams desperate for centers, so they reach. Since I was happy with Mek and not at all satisfied with Felton/McInnis, I thought it would be more beneficial to roll the dice on a guard... but I expected us to take Lopez and would be fine with it, just was going to curb my enthusiasm and worry about it setting us back like many other picks.

Regardless, my main reason that I'm so annoyed by you and Bass constantly harping the DJ pick is that at least DJ will be an NBA player, which is not true of Morrison and May, which is actually did think were BAD picks at the time, not just safe or unexciting ones. You hate DJ because he isn't Lopez... we get it.

From now on consider me agreeing wholeheartly with Walt unless I claim the opposite.

(yup, right now I'm lazy to write down a post of similar lenght; there are little differences in details I could nitpick like my obvious lack of NCAA games seen etc. by with the main parts I agree completely)
