Hammers: Bobcats Vs Bucks

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Tue Dec 29, 2009 2:27 am

Image: Crash. "Insert any number of reasons why here".

Image: Hulk. Played efficiently and with confidence giving us a great boost off the bench.

Image: Gana. Played 12 really productive mins. I don't think the box score did him justice either. I'm sure he had more than 1 block and 3 boards. The baseline reverse layups were something else!!

Was at the game tonight for a change. Wish that I could give a negative hammer to SJax. Early on his poor D lead to problems then later on ... well no need to elaborate.

Gold - Crash. No contest he played hard.

Silver - Graham. When he was on the court good stuff happened ... scoring wise he got the kinds of points the team needed when they needed them ... he was active on D ... just a great game from him.

Bronze - This is a hard one. I want to give it to Diop, Felts, or DJ ... but I have to put Flip here. He had a really solid game.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Bronze: Felton - played solid

Rich, been meaning to ask:

Why do you only ever vote when you dial them out to Felts?

I usually only vote in wins, and typically if we win he plays well. I also base it not so much on stats as some others. I take into account the stuff that might not show up in the box score more than probably most.

I don't know Rich, I think I see a pattern here!!

Vs Jazz (a loss) you made a comment, but didn’t vote – and Felts didn’t rank in the overall votes.

Vs Knicks (a loss) you voted – and Felts was the run away Gold Hammer winner.

Vs Pacers (a loss) you voted – but no Felts this time.

Vs the Knicks (a win) you voted and gave Felts your gold Hammer – the only person that gave him gold.

Vs the Sixers (a win) you voted and gave Felts your gold Hammer – and he ended up with the bronze overall.

Vs the Raps (a win) you voted and gave Felts your Bronze Hammer – and he didn’t poll in the overall Hammers.

;)

But hey, I've always maintained that posters are free to dial out their Hammers as they see fit so have at it.

Vs Jazz - That game really bothered me, it was frustrating to watch. I decided to comment, but never voted.

Vs Knicks - We lost by what, 2 or 4 without Wallace for the whole game and Jackson for a good portion of it. It's a competitive loss and Felton did everything he could to try and help us win - which is why everyone else voted him gold as well like you mentioned.

Vs Pacers - Another competitive loss so I voted, but Felton didn't deserve a hammer so I didn't vote for him

vs Knicks - again, not based on the stat sheet but when the game was on the line late in the 4th he's the guy who made the game changing plays. That gets you a gold or silver hammer in my book.

vs Sixers - he had the game winning shot so I gave him gold... you gave him a "HM" for "getting torched by Willie Green". If you're going to dock him for playing poor defense (which he didn't that game) why don't you practice what you preach and give him hammers for stellar defense? :-)

Vs Raps - I gave him a Bronze that game, just like you did and at least one other for an efficient game over Nazr or Chandler.

What else ya got? You know I'm a Felton fan, I like the character and way he plays when he's under control. I'll admit I pull for the guy and can sometimes be biased, but that fire is fueled by the people who like to make him the whipping boy for no good reason.
