Official PF rotation/minutes distribution thread

Post#1 » by Takuya Kimura » Fri Feb 19, 2010 10:50 am

So who is gonna start at PF?

For me I'd like Tyrus to start at PF so that he can help out Crash on the glass and let the latter do his normal work on offense and rest a little bit.Crash is looking exhausted lately and less workload would certainly help.

IMO Diaw has been rather with the starters this season,a change of role as the 6th man/energy spark off the bench would only do go to him.

Rotation:
Felton 30 / DJ 18
SJax 38 / Hendo 10
Crash 38 / Tyrus 5 /Graham 5
Tyrus 20 / Diaw 28
Tyson 15/ Nazr 26 / Diop 7
and some sparing minutes for Ratliff if our Cs keep sucking.

Chandler darn well better be playing more than 15min. I still don't think Hendo gets much, if any burn unless foul trouble or injury comes into play.

My expectation, assuming everyone is healthy, is more like: (note: this isn't necessarily what I would like to see)
Rotation:
Felton 30 / DJ 18
SJax 38 / Graham 10
Crash 38 / Brown 10
Tyrus 20 / Diaw 28
Tyson 25/ Nazr 15 / Ratliff 8

I also vote for Tyrus to start and have Diaw as our 6th man. We will need Boris to be active with scoring and everything else he does (or can do) well off the bench to overcome Murray's departure.

I think LB will have to use Henderson on occasion, but I don't think he'll get many minutes. Larry's comments about Henderson getting playing time ("...that's up to him...") indicates that he's not doing enough to please Papa. We're likely to see Graham as the primary backup to SG. The front line is so unhealthy that the minutes there will look like a smorgasboard.

So here's my rough distribution based on TT starting (minutes not exact to game minutes):

Felton 38 / DJ 10
SJax 38 / Graham 12 / Henderson 3
Crash 39 / Brown 8
Tyrus 29 / Diaw 28
Tyson 20/ Nazr 18 / Ratliff 6
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Jesus why would you people want TC playing 20 or 25 minutes... he is horrible for us. Horrible.

Felton 32 / DJ 16
SJax 38 / Henderson 8 / Graham 7
Crash 38 / Brown 9
Tyrus 25 / Diaw 20 / Brown 3
Nazr 27 / Tyson 12 / Ratliff 9

I think Diaw will be starting, I don't see Brown benching him yet.

I just don't see Tyrus starting, at least not right away. I want him to get good enough where he should start, but don't completely expect it.

I'll say:

Felts 26/ DJ 22
Jack 30/ Graham 8/ Felts 6/ Hendo 4
Crash 36/ Jack 6/ UPS 6
Boris 23/ Tyrus 22/ Crash 3
Tyson 20/ Nazr 20/ Ratliff 4/ Boris 4

Felton 34 / DJ 14
SJax 36 /DJ 6 / Graham 6 / Henderson 0
Crash 38 / Jax 4 / Diaw 2 / Brown 4
Diaw 20 / Tyrus 26 / Crash 2
Nazr 18 / Diaw 13 / Tyson 12 / Ratliff 5

If we sign James he'll of course eat into minutes at the 2 and possibly a couple at the 1.

I wish the rooks would get more PT and guys like Crash/Jax a little less...but this is Larry Brown we're talking here.

I just realized people have been posting their expectations, not what they would do. My bad...

It'd be nice to see a little more of Nazr in the second half of games. It seems like there are too many games where he posts 13 and 8 in the first half only to languish on the bench during the second.

This approach makes sense to me also.
