I feel bad for the guy who believes the Hornets trade Paul for cap relief. Espially not delusional like a trade to us.
They want to win. They just bought Mek.
And like the other guy said teams are so under the cap like the Nets could give CDR and WIlliams and cap relief and the 2 picks for Paul.
NY can give Chandler-Gallenir and cap relief with Tony Douglas.
Any team under the cap can give cap relief and prospects this year.

The difference is that the Nets wouldn't take on James posey contract along with Paul, we could, Also the point i'm trying to make isn't trying to match talent level, its giving them cap release inturn for chris paul, the nets wouldn't be doing that wit terrance williams

Are you crazy? We would take James Posey´s bad contract in a SECOND for Chris Paul.... IN A SECOND

We were talking about this on the Nets board.

Nets end up with the #1 pick we could definitely work something out without even having to shed Terrence Williams.

A combination of John Wall, Courtnee Lee, and CDR should get it done.

I;m surprised it would take that long to be honest.

You guys are misunderstanding me, I'm not saying this is actuality, i'm not saying that the hornets would trade Chris Paul, and my scenario was under the assumption that Chris Paul demanded a trade, and I said it would be plausible that the Bobcats could be a destination for him, its not that far fetched, 36 million in cap space plus a first round pick

Well in your scenario you're ruling out other variables that make it impossible for it to be accomplished. The Bobcats wouldn't be at the top of the list of teams who can offer the Hornets the best deal for Paul, hell they probably wouldn't even be in the middle of that list.

So no, It is not a matter of us misunderstanding you, its a matter of your scenario for the Bobcats being highly unlikely.

Battery wrote:Are you serious? There isn't a chance in hell New Orleans trades Paul for cap relief. Chris Paul is not Baron "chucker" Davis. The problem with New Orleans is being able to find a team dumb enough to take Okafor and his bloated contract. Unfortunately for New Orleans, nobody will take Okafor unless NOH is willing to take back a bad contract. If they can dump Okafor, they will still have Paul and West, plus a couple of expiring contracts to trade so you still have a solid foundation to build upon. You trade Paul and you have to start all over again with no guarantees they will find a player anywhere near the level of Paul.

I agree with you, I don't think Paul will be traded either, I just said that they would get better deals than what Stun suggested, Nazr and Chandler.

Yes. ALl the teams who missed out on Lebron. Paul if a free agent or on the market would be the #2 or # most wanted with Wade.

Doesn't CP3 have an ETO in 2012?

I wouldn't be looking to trade for him, but if I were the Bobcats' FO I'd be keeping an eye on the calender.

and thats why you arent a nba gm. Paul is a great player, but he's also the product of that system. look at the numbers collison is putting up in his place. is he the 2nd best point guard of the last 20 years?

Exactly they don't need both, they are going to trade one of them, with paul picking up another season ending injury, its look like hornets might actually deal paul

IMO if i was NO I would rather take Nazr/Tyson/First round pick and be able to ship posey for paul, because I'll have enough cap space and flexiablity to add to the team, why on earth would they take Felton & DJ when they already have collison

Paul/DJ
Jax/Hughes/Graham
Crash/Posey
TT/Diaw
(Pick up a C thru Free Agency)/Diop/Lexy

IMO that team could win the east

This is my biggest concern right here. Teams that cleared all that cap space to sign King James. They will have tons of $ to throw at someone like Ray which we wont be able to match, especially if they dont end up signing James.

we cant let the stupidity of other teams dictate what we should offer ray. if another team wants to throw a massive deal his way, that sucks, but we will need to move on w/out him.
