Love is a really nice role player. But his defense is not Bobcat ready. You are better off with Crash.

How is his defense?

Ahhh thanks floppy. Yeah, we don't want any part of defensive stiffs.

Re: Kevin Love
at some point we have to add some players who can score. great defense is awesome and all, but we need offense at this point. again, would be fun to see love in place of diaw. that would be great.

Yes that is true, but you need great defense in the post if you expect to win in the Eastern conference playoffs. If we had Dwight Howard at center, then yeah, Love would be fine next to him.
What we need is an upgrade at the point, a taller athletic PF who can play all around, and a good role playing shooter like Redick coming off the bench.
Although his defense isn't the greatest, I would see if we can get in on a S&T for Bosh. I think LB can make him soooo much better on defense.

Re: Kevin Love
We need to invent a new kind of basketball where players tag up with their teammates at halfcourt. Then combine GSW and Charlotte into one team. Warriors would play offense, then tag up with Cats at half court and they would play defense.

Not nearly bad enough to turn him down in favor of Diaw. Heading into the summer, our needs will be better play from our post players and more offense. The two go hand-in-hand, IMO. So what if having Love instead of Diaw drops our defense from top 2 to top 6? Our offense will be much improved, thus making us a better team. And yes, I know, Diaw boxes out well; but having a big that can be a complete animal on the glass is always a plus.
All moot, because there's no way in hell Minnesota trades Love for Diaw.
Humble yourself.

We shouldn't compare Love to Diaw. Completely different players. We're trying to build a team that can go deep in the playoffs so the question is, can Love be a missing piece to help us get to the next level? Diaw is irrelevant, because I agree with you there, he is not the answer long term as our starter at PF. However, in order to compete at the next level, you need serious all around talent at the PF spot if you don't have a dominating defensive center.
Also, again this goes back to the Okafor thing for me....It's one thing to collect a bunch of stats on a losing team where teams aren't getting up to play you, but it's a whole other ballgame when you play teams that are gunning for you.
What do you think of something like this...
Tyrus Thomas
Gerald Henderson
Nazr
For
Bosh
Toronto would want to shed some salary so maybe we would have to take on one of their bad contracts too. The above was just a basic framework of a deal. We could even throw in Diaw if we take back either Hedo or Calderon. I would also give up a 1st round pick if need be.

In a nano second - although I think they would prefer Chandler for two reasons.
1. A better pairing with the defensively inept Bargs.
2. His big fat expiring contract.

I personally think Kevin Love is undervalued and misused and his production is much higher than his trade value. I know that many disagree with this assessment though.
