IIRC, his contract isn't fully guaranteed until January 10th. IOW, there's no rush...

We have a big hole at C and i can't see Damp going anywhere right now, like dallas we probably overvalued the possibilities of the chip. if he's cut only for short-term savings it was just a dumb move.

I think Dallas made out well in that trade because it gave them more roster flexibility. They cleared two stiffs with multi year contracts off their roster. If TC is healthy he can help them a lot and if not, he's a big expiring they can deal at the trade deadline, or let the money come off the books at the end of the season. Ajinca is garbage but you never know, he might surprise because he's young. If he sucks, they don't pick up his option.

it's likely, if not inevitable, the Bobcats will waive Erick Dampier (rather than trade him) to avoid a $13 million salary. And the Bobcats will play center-by-committee, with Nazr Mohammed, Gana Diop and one other big man sharing the minutes pretty freely.

So they may have essentially swapped Chandler / Ajinca for

1) Louis Amundson
2) a couple million $ in cost savings this season only
3) Carroll and Najaras bad contracts that make the deal a net financial loss and further worsen their long term cap flexibility over the next 2-3 seasons.

Genius... Presti, Pritchard, Riley etc have nothing on our FO

Yuppers.

TC (with his expiring) and Lexy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Damp (if we just waive him), Hammer (long contract) and Eddie (long contract).

Idk how much you can take seriously from Bonnel. He has consistantly shown how wrong he is over the years. Plus, i am fine with our FO taking a chance and TRYING to get better by getting pieces they could use to get a superstar player that would bring them to that next level. Sure it may not work out and then it looks bad, but i would at least rather have us be in the running then nothing at all. SO persionally i m fine with taking that risk and i still would like to try and resign Dampier.

My real question is, they have shown a lot of interest in Amundson, do they think he is a C? I really liek Amundson's game, and i know LB would love to have him for that reason. However, the guy is a PF and we already have Thomas, Najera, and Diaw. I mean unless they are preparing for a trade, possibly Najera to the Hornets then Amundson as a C seems a stretch to me. THere must be a reason they continue to stay in contact with Amundson though...

And all of a sudden Bonnell's words becomes the gospel. We all know he has no clue what is happening with this team. It could be they are jearing up for a trade that would involve Diaw.

If chandler had stayed charlotte would have signed 4 or 5 players. They would have been over the tax I think

Meh, MJ took a risk in the Dampier deal in the hope it might lead to Chris Paul. I personally think it was worth the risk and am glad that he is being aggressive.
