May Released

Post#1 » by hotrod » Tue Sep 7, 2010 10:12 pm

Al_Iannazzone May suffered a stress fracture in his left foot during a workout last week, requiring 4-8 week rehab period, GM Billy King said.

Al_Iannazzone It was a long shot for May to make the team anyway and he had no shot after this.

Stress fractures happen when you go all Harold & Kumar on the local White Castle.

On a serious note, not surprised. Good chance he wouldn't make the team and it was evident in Sacramento last year that he couldn't keep the weight down like he should have. It's time for him to go to Europe, or, maybe we'll make him our next Kwame?

Damn, you would have thought that we could have done this with May. Would have saved some headaches.

You really can't mess with first round picks contracts too much, especially 13th overall, they are pretty much set it stone. Now on the outside chance, that god forbid even now, the Bobcats were to ever resign him...that probably would be a good thing to include.

Finally after 5 years, several million dollars, his Nba career is over. What could have been will never be. LB/MJ tried. I think they saw alot of potential when he was drafted, but quickly realized that if he didn't stay in NBA shape he would not survive. Like Adam Morrison what you see in college isn't what you get at the NBA level. Physical and mental conditioning is an ongoing challenge. :-?
I hope his Dad made him put away some money...

The sad thing is, Sean May is still a big. Ammo gets screwed because he is now essentially a dime a dozen SF. Sean May can still play up front. Want proof, two words "Primoz Brezec".

Teams will still give him chances, whether he can avoid FatBurger long enough to take advantage is up to him.

Sad thing is, May was in pretty good shape this summer. His body is just fragile. His father broke down early in his career too IIRC. Bad genes- oh well.
