The fact that we talk about certain players getting that call and others not just shows how bad the officiating in the NBA is. A foul should be a foul, no matter who is involved.

Equally DJ should have gone to the line for a three point play on that steal and layup with 40 or so seconds to go in the game because Telfair hacked him.

Either way, refs don't decide games. Players do.

It was a horribly officiated game...

Either way, Timberwolves took some horrible shots down the stretch and Wesley choked hard at the line.

Refs always decide games. I've never understood the notion that they don't... NOT making calls is the same as making them, the game depends upon enforcement of the rules, you can't just "let players play" and say that the outcome was fair.

The Wolves left 8 points at the free throw line shooting 15-23 (65%). They make those free throws, they win the game.

They were also out rebounded by 8. They rebound better, it puts them in a better position to win the game.

Don't blame the refs for a loss when you leave 8pts at the FT line.

I say it's 40/60, refs - players

Sorry Slam, let me clarify... obviously a great many games are decided so clearly that refs who even approximate the game of basketball will not determine the outcome. But many games come down to the wire, and those are decided as much by the players as by mistakes and 50/50 calls made by refs.

I am more specifically referring to what people say about the ends of close games... that the refs "take over" or whatever. If fouls happen, the refs have to call them, NOT calling them isn't "better." The idea of not getting a call at the end of a game (that would otherwise be awarded) is completely bizarre.

it wasnt a foul. Jackson had a position, he never moved his feet, Tolliver ran into him initiated all the contact. on a 40 foot heave thats not gonna get you a whistle

This. You're not getting that call 3 seconds into the game or with 3 seconds left. It's not a good call.
