Sachmo wrote:He didn't at first, Pop's was hard on him trying to force him into being a pass first point guard. As Parker put it, "he wanted me to be a John Stockton type point guard, when I'm more of a Isiah Thomas type guard." The great quality this shows in Pops was that he adapted his own coaching style and methodology to suit his players and team. LB would never have relented, but would have continued hammering Parker until it all turned sour.

I think that says a lot.

Gregg Popovich seems to be doing very well out in San Antonio.

Real simple Slam, play defense and you will win games. Play defense + talented unselfish players = lots and lots of wins

Pop understands Parker and allows him to play to his strengths. He doesn't force him to do some bs spin at the start of a set. He lets Manu be Manu. He plays guys like Hill and Neal and lets them shoot from range. He doesn't run the same thing over and over without change. Heck, he gets the best out of guys like Matt Bonner. Even the rookie Anderson, who came into the NBA as a scorer/shooter got some burn - and guess what he was allowed to do? Shoot................because that is what he does. Pop lets players be themselves, not a bogus extension of him and something they are not.

And I'm still waiting for you to name our next coach. You keep criticizing LB but have yet to name a suitable replacement.

At this stage ANYONE but Larry Brown would be ok with me.

Anyone.

No ham biscuits please.

Pedro's pretty much nailed this. That the team's offense has been one of the worst in the league both this year and last. The difference is that last year the team had one of the best defenses around and this year they are only average.

I would argue that the offense has hurt the team both years ... but this year more than last becasue the defense isn't masking the problems.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
