You know, he may for many reasons. But I'm beginning to think this might be worth pursuing.

Both teams need a shake-up. I know Rip's contract is not good, but short of making a really good trade (which won't happen while Larry is here), our next best swap might be Jax and Diop for Rip and Monroe.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I wish, but I really don't see Detroit giving up Monroe like that

Hey man, I don't like Rips contract (or game these days) any more than the next guy, but if making a swap of him and Jax meant we also made a swap of Gana for Monroe then I would be down for sure..............but there isn't a hope in HELL of the Pistons trading for Jax.

Not only are they trying to move Rip in part to free up time for Gordon and Daye (which trading for Jax would negate) but there is that whole "go into the stands and punch fans in the face" thing from the past.

What if the deal was Crash and Diop for Rip and Monroe? We slide Jax to the 3, Rip at the 2, and maybe Detroit deals Tay to some other team for another nice player. Perhaps we move DJ and Nazr to Orlando for Nelson and change.

Nelson, Rip, Jax, Diaw, Monroe

There is no way Greg Monroe is being involved in the trade. And I can't imagine Stephen Jackson as Piston. Even with the Brawl so many years away.

More likely would be some sort of garbage package of Matt and DeSagana for Rip.

If you can do Diop and Carrol for Rip...then why not do it? All 3 guys contract is the same length, and you would only take on an additional 2 million in the trade. Your trading two players that produce nothing, for a guy who is having a down year at 14 ppg. Rip could come in here and maybe jump start Wallace or jackson. LB would actually have an option to bench one of these guys to send a message. Maybe they would feel the pressure and get the act together. OR, we have security for if we do trade Wallace or Jackson. The way it is going in Detroit i'm not sure Detroit is going to get anything. PLus many detorit fans have said they would take that deal. I don't see a reason why not to do that trade...all your doing is taking out two bodies and adding actual talent.

^A trade that has Carroll, Diop going out with ONLY Rip coming in is stupid. He's not the answer to getting this season back on track. Get Monroe involved, we're getting somewhere.

I just realized MPM beat me to the link. Oops.

Anyway, I'm still on board with Carroll and Diop for Hamilton.
